“It’s Northampton” is out today with a music video by @requestedrecords, shot on a cold winter’s day in Northampton, MA.

The song is a love letter to Northampton — a magical place! #singersongwriter #northampton by @jakemanzi

Today I am psyched to announce that my 3rd LP, 𝑮𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, will be out everywhere on June 12th! The first single, “The Trouble,” is out now for your auditory and visual consumption. You can also pre-order a vinyl, CD, or digital copy if you’d like to own the record!

Produced by @gabernini and I
Recorded at @__recorders__

“The Trouble” was the first song that I wrote for the record. It was written with a rockin’ band in mind and I thought those opening chords contained a sense of wonder and possibility that the songs I love often have. So I ran with it.

One of my favorite things in life (aside from Pecorino Romano 🤌) is playing songs in a room with other musicians. There is a sense of urgency and excitement that comes through when a band plays together on record. Not only can you hear the music being 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘥, you can hear the music being 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦. I like that.

The album features some of my favorite musicians playing live on the floor. Shane McCarthy plays bass and sings, Charlie Faragher drums, Jack DeMeo plays electric guitar and sings, Connor “Catfish” Gallaher plays steel and electric guitars, Eli Salus-Kleiner plays keys, and Gabe Bernini plays organ. I was spoiled to be able to make music with players who brought such care and spirit to my songs.

There’s much more to say about Getting Somewhere but for now, please go ahead and enjoy “The Trouble.” Links to everything, including my Substack, are in my bio.

Thanks & talk soon!
