my EP release show was such a special night 💙
thank you to everyone who came 🥹 i’m so grateful to have shared this moment in time. it feels like the beginning of a new chapter and i really felt love and presence in the space. a few shoutouts i want to make to some beautiful people who made the night possible🦋

i promised myself to be honest and vulnerable because without those things, for me, the art has no meaning. i am adopted. i’ve struggled with identity and belonging my entire life, afraid to look in the mirror and face myself physically, spiritually, and emotionally. even though i could always sing, i rejected making music from a very young age. but something about meeting my birth mother a decade ago changed that. not all at once, but i began to unravel from writing, singing, and healing myself. i’m still doing all of these things. and i’ve come to understand that music is a part of me. i was born to do this🦋✨

if you’re reading or watching this post and understand the feelings i’ve described because you have felt them yourself, i want you to know that you are deeply loved. i’ve learned that the journey is inward, not outward. there is no outer source of identity that will make you feel whole indefinitely, but there is a way within. there is unconditional love within yourself. you can’t take back the love you’ve been given, and yes you do deserve it 💙🩵💕 taken in First Avenue & 7th St Entry by @jakiblue
