Glad you’re finding your way to “Wolf Like Me”, whether it’s the 1st time or the 100th. This song turns 20 this year along with Return to Cookie Mountain. Thanks to everyone who’s been listening. 🐺🕷️🖤 by @jaleezy

My mom Dr. Linda Spears Bunton passed away last month. She was brilliant, beautiful, determined, courageous, fierce, deeply moral and bountifully gregarious. As an educator for over 50 years, she instilled in all of her children, not just the power, but the paramount necessity of education for it would be our life saving sword and shield in a world that too often seems committed to the physical and psychic debasement of people who look like us. She protected us, and prepared us for our journeys while at the same time navigating her own arduous path to the highest levels of academia. She did all of this often amidst the least hospitable of circumstances and yet, her spirit was so indomitable that she never lost her zeal to celebrate, dance, live, laugh, and love. As her many friends and students will attest, she just gave so much to so many people. There is truly nothing I could write here that would be sufficient in communicating the singular profundity of this person. A glorious and peaceful afterlife has never been more well deserved. I love you mom and I’m forever grateful.
Her memorial will be on 4/5 in Miami, FL. Please contact me for details if you wish to attend. by @jaleezy

Ok, two things! Go see The Reverend at IFC this week! Its great, the people in it are great, and the people who made it are great! I am very proud to call all of them family and truly honored that a place where I have found so much unique joy and inspiration over the years has been documented to share for all of time. Tix @ifccenter
Second, as union pool is still temporarily closed, Vince and the love choir are playing at our good friend Jonathan Toubin’s club @tveyenyc tonight. The place is great, the chimichangas are great, the backstage is great and I think its gonna be really fun time. It’s starting a little later tonight 10pm which i have a sneaky suspicion will lend itself to the exact appropriate levels of divination and debauchery ✨✨✨Come thru!✨✨✨ taken in TV Eye NYC by @jaleezy

Hello internet. It’s my birthday. If you haven’t seen me in a while here’s a nice photo my friend @sumner_dilworth took a few weeks ago to update your records. If you feel like celebrating my defiance of death, we would love to see YOUR face at @union_pool tonight where @reverendvince and the love choir will be serving up some of the finest dirty gospel in the land. Be well internet. Thank you for all the love. Truly. ❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾❤️ 9pm start taken in Brooklyn, New York by @jaleezy

It took a very long time but we finally made it back here. So happy to return to Union pool with Rev. Vince and the love choir tonight! Mondays are officially back, days of the week officially matter again, and we can once again sing, dance, and be as free as we wanna be in a crowded room with people we love. Can’t wait🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾
