• throwback 22.02.2026 • Student of the year 2025 performances @lawrays_dance ❤️‍🔥 Being nominated for Student of the Year in Afro Dance by my teacher @godsown_emz truly meant so much to me. Because in our community, it’s never just about dancing. Afro Dance is not just dance. Every style carries its own culture, history, and origin. It’s emotions, stories, and so much more. I felt incredibly honored to represent his class and had so much fun on stage. Being able to express myself creatively, choose my own music, and create my very own choreography was such a beautiful experience. Atlas Lion at the end 🦁🇲🇦 I dedicated this piece to my father who passed away last year ❤️‍🩹 During the performance, the crowd was cheering and I genuinely got goosebumps. Especially my Afro Dance fam was so loud 🥹❤️‍🔥 Thank you @roblawray for creating a space where people can express themselves, grow, and feel safe. And thank you to my biggest supporter @jonas_igel ❤️ 🎶 Songs: “Mohal” by @moha_kaid was one of my favorite songs last year and carries a very emotional meaning for me. Then “SNK” by @shenny_da_deejay - Amapiano will always have my heart. “Bouwéy” by 1T1 was the final song. 🎥 @fabirinho88 - Fabio Gigante by @jalilaa_07

Meet the person behind the movement🔥@jalilaa_07 Jalila is 26 years old and has been dancing since she was a child. For the past 2 years, she has mainly been training Afro Dance at @lawraysdance. During this time, she has received a lot of input from her trainers Emz and Chanté, especially to improve her individual freestyle. She especially loves training to Amapiano 🇿🇦 The groove and the log drums in this music genre from South Africa really catch her! Her best experiences with it have been in clubs and with the people dancing there in Cape Town ❤️‍🔥 To expand her dance knowledge and support the community, she goes to battles and mainly attends workshops. From Ndombolo and Afro House to Azonto, she is inspired by pretty much all styles. Through “The Narrative”, she has also rediscovered her passion for Dancehall. Behind every dance style is its very own culture, history, and origin, which are reflected in the steps and movements. That is exactly why she loves dancing so much! ❤️🧡💛💚🌍💙🩵🤍🖤 🎤 @dr.yaro #atchiki 🔥 #crewmember #introduction #freestyle #thenarrative by @jalilaa_07
The final round of our From The Streets With Love performance. We were blending movements and steps from different African dance styles together. The vision was to hit the fast track with our legwork. The inspiration came from different western African styles and also middle Africa, since it's an Angolan Afro House artist. . Enjoy a group of grandpas exhausting themselves. 🥹❤️ . 🧠 @leo_rissa 🎶 @juniornobeatoficial 🏠 @lawrays_dance . #africandance #afrofusion #afrohouse #nigeria #angola by @jalilaa_07
