Proud of this project, I had a chance to demo the new Pioneer PLX-CRSS12 hybrid turntables and put them through the paces. I wanted to have some fun with this demo and put some video and editing chops on the block as well. I've been wanting to do a video where I'd run a routine with myself on camera for a while now and this posed a great opportunity to do so.

Filmed both runs of the routine separately featuring the two versions of myself, keeping the timing of the routine in mind, filmed 9 camera angles total, multicam editing and a composite shot to glue them all together. This would have been a huge headache to edit so many visual angles and audio takes if it weren't for @deitymicrophones timecode solutions.

A huge thanks to zZounds for the opportunity to demo the turntables and @pioneerdjusa for putting out a rock solid piece of tech. The response and feel of the DVS signal coming out of that is TIGHT, I don't feel any latency at all and the torque on the platter feels great especially for a heavy handed scratch nerd like myself. A short routine I put together a while back teasing a live review for an online retailer featuring the Pioneer DDJ-REV 7. Something a little different than the norm for me as I produced the main instrumental track myself for this routine. I've only dabbled in production here and there over the years and there's plenty of rough drafts and never finished stuff that never made it to the public ear until now as I was happy with this one. I shot and edited everything as well so it feels good to bring multiple crafts into a single project as well. Hope you enjoy the wicky wicky stuff!

Experimenting with Native Instruments Maschine MK3. I don't really produce music per se but been experimenting a little bit here and there and I'm getting accustomed to the workflow. Really enjoying their Guitar Rig VST even for adding some grit to the drums. Got a couple of layers going on here some traditional acoustic drums going, some Middle Eastern inspired patterns layered up, some deep bass also ran through Guitar Rig for a little bit of fuzz, and all of the Melody patterns originated from a few hits of some strings and funked up through various Guitar Rig amp and cabinet simulations. Came up with a few melodic patterns to jump between for some variations. Also learning the limitations of the workflow with the touch strip for the perform FX. Got around some of those limitations by getting creative with some bus routing. Biggest issue for me originally was not being able to affect more than one group at the same time but was able to solve that by creating a few empty groups and routing the original groups into those in different combinations so I could have multiple perform FX options to quickly jump back and forth through without having to scroll anything.

some more experiments with #nativeinstruments #maschine - I was trying to put together some Grim stuff, going for that back alley brothel vibe. still early stages on this one got to see what kind of progression I want to do with it. Using the #korgnanopad2 to trigger some FX and jump between scenes and lock states in Maschine. Also assigned a few macros to adjust some group level FX
