Glaze it till you make it! 💫

It was finally time to glaze the big load of bowls and plates I’ve been making with @kellerelvira for the last few weeks. Dipped and sprayed, painted, and sprinkled. It was quite satisfying to pull them out of the kiln - with no major surprises either!

Casette making this week: @kellerelvira taught me how to make hand-built vases with tiny little houses attached to them. This is one of her signature collections and it was great to learn how it’s made. The process takes time, patience, and care, but the satisfaction of seeing these ‘casette’ come together makes it 100% worth it.

Last week I went to one of the many to come ceramics events in Faenza!

Ciotole d’Autore (artist bowls) was organised by @enteceramicafaenza at @micfaenza to raise funds for ANFFAS, a local charity, through their raffle tickets sale. The bowls were donated by the ceramists who took part in @argilla.italia 2024, and they were absolutely stunning! #ArtWithPurpose #CiotoleDAutore #FaenzaCeramics”

First week in Faenza, Italy : Beyond expectations.

Learning from the amazing ceramist @kellerelvira has been very fun so far. From making my first bowls to understanding the rhythm of the studio, every day has been full of discovery, creativity, and a little bit of magic.

Excited to see where this journey leads 🏺💫

Welcome to Jama Ceramics! ✨ I’m so excited to start this new chapter of my life documenting my journey with ceramics. It all began last November when I took my first ceramics course at @atelieartenoforno in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
I was immediately hooked by the process of shaping clay and the endless creative possibilities it offers, inspired by my first teacher, Wagner. Since then, I knew I wanted to dive deeper into this art form, and I decided to make space for this new passion in my life. And here I am, 4 months later, in Faenza, Italy, continuing to explore and learn as a student in one of the most important hubs for ceramists. As I embark onto my new journey, I’m excited to share my progress, discoveries, and creations here.

I’m ready, let’s go!
