🏆Welcome back to Player Spotlights & today we’re covering Miami Native Jamal Ware. The 6’5 guard finished his high school career as a 2024 class state champion with the Miami Norland Vikings..📊Last year, Jamal kicked off his college career at Maryville College, a D3 school over at Tennessee. Although his freshman year was filled with ups & downs via either injury or limited minutes, he still had a handful of double digit scoring performances while also shooting over 35% from both the field & 3 point range..‼️During his freshman season, he predominantly had the role of a 3&D type of player while still creating fast break opportunities for his team on the defensive end through getting steals in the passing lanes or on the ball, he also would obtain a good amount of his points through cuts & flashes to the basket all while hitting shots from outside the arc..📶The biggest ways he can continue to improve is just continuing to be more consistent on both ends of the floor while also steadily improving his ability to play-make off the dribble more often not just for himself but for his team as well..💫Now in his sophomore year, Jamal’s been able to jump up to a starting position & currently averaging 9ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.5apg & almost 2spg while shooting 40% from the field & 37% from 3. With potential to be a versatile combo guard or even undersized wing & 2-3 years of eligibility left, the sky is the limit for Jamal who’s on pace to possibly make a nice jump to a higher level program once this year is done..♾️With the Maryville squad finishing off as the CCS Regular Season Champs & looking to make a big push going into playoffs, make sure to keep an eye out for em as post season approaches.
