THRIVE is now live.
An incredible ten month project, in collaboration with @parkview_school was unveiled recently. Check the link in my bio to view the full details.
~
A huge thank you to Mandip Korotana, Lucinda Masson and @ccwg.church for making this happen. Last but not least, big up the students, who fully-embraced the project brief. It was a pleasure, and inspiration, working with you.

Salini has company. Tripping across the pond comes another colourful denizen of Belize. Dendrobates auratus. The poison dart frog.
~
Who although a mere two centimetres in length, can easily take down a large mammal or two, should they disregard the aposematic - when animals signify their toxicity, with bright colours. These tiny amphibians being a master of dietary sequestration - hacking the chemical defences of other organisms, primarily ants and mites, to ‘harvest’ alkaloid poisons, in order to manufacture their own powerful neurotoxin.

Just the thing if you want to hang in the NIZZ.

At a hundred.
~
In commemoration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday I have revisited a short brick passage, just around the corner from my house, where I briefly got to speak with the most humble of global icons, last summer. This was immediately after he had spent some time filming the foxes on Mannock Road Allotment, north London, for BBC’s Wild London documentary.
~
Whilst painting this artwork every passerby had a word of thanks. In some such way his legacy will live on, through those young foxes, and these old bricks.
~
Haringey Council have also informed me that we can unofficially refer to this short thoroughfare as ‘Attenborough Alley’.
~
Final photo shows a montage using the original image from last summer, overlayed onto the present day.

Wild.
~
An amazing day spent @parkview_school , working with so many talented and enthusiastic young people; tasked with adding their contribution to our joint project - Nurture Nature. It was truly inspiring to watch the canvas journey, from tentative steps, through chaos, into a cohesive palimpsest (our word of the day); each individual making a valid and considered contribution. My brief included the soft rule DON’T BE PRECIOUS. Which they thoroughly bought into.
The completed artwork will have a special unveiling in the summer. Might a certain Mr. Attenborough fulfil a certain pupil’s brushwork request - COME TO PARK VIEW PLEASE…
~
The canvas will remain with Park View School until April, when it gets passed back to me, to add my part of the journey. They’ve set the bar high!
