Want to get started on or improve your acoustic/fingerstyle guitar skills in 2026? Learn 1:1 with me. 🌟

I'm taking a handful of online (or in-person if possible) students who want to get their acoustic skills to the next level. Dm me for more info, a chat or to set up a call with me. 😊

Note - these are not conventional guitar lessons. These have a much more focused element of fingerstyle and intuitive playing and don't go too much into theory. So send me a message if this aligns with your interests. ✨️ All skill levels are welcome! by @james_thomas_sai

- The Call of the Wind 🍃🌊 -

Out Now on YouTube in 4K as a full hour-long sound journey! (YT Link in bio 💙)

This live improvisation session took place during a serene time at the tip of Cornwall, England a couple of weeks ago. The wind traversed through the rugged cliffs and hilltops this day and many birds of the sea took flight whilst the ocean lay as still as glass. May you find some peace, or other relevant emotion to you, in this captured journey of music. 🎼

It's not always the easiest filming oneself whilst playing; often it's a case of clicking record and hoping for the best. As soon as I pick up the guitar, the camera is out of my control (and I'm blessed when the session remains in focus!). I was very pleased with the capture of this and delighted to share it with you all!

Much love, James ☀️

Improvisation is always pushing my comfort boundaries of playing forward. Rarely any of these sessions I put up are 100% polished, but it's not really the reason I make them.. I make them to document ideas; to write an entry in the musical journal and to then when I show you guys it has some imperfections of being human. Just a human working some stuff out on the spot.

I hope you enjoy the human-ness, and thank you all for giving so much love to the new full video. 🙏🏻

Played on this crazy @enyamusicglobal X4 Pro. 🖤

'Sanctuary of Stone' improvisation now out in full on YouTube! In collaboration with @enyamusicglobal who I can't thank enough for sending this X4 Pro out to me to try out. 🖤

For full transparency: I was hesitant about carbon fiber.. BUT the tone and feel of this guitar actually blew me away! I've barely put it down and it's already given me so much inspiration for this style of video out in the rocks and delving into that carbon-rock relationship and the grounded stillness that comes with it. Maybe I'll find myself a good cave for another one @enyamusicglobal? 😘

Anyway guys, enjoy this new one because I LOVED it. Full version through link in bio. Big love. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Recently I've really been pushing the boundaries of my playing in many different ways. Once I reach a limit in my technical playing, or how much I can spread what I'm doing across different things, I look into what I can do to make it work and to transmute what I can hear in my head to the outside World. This often includes isolating each instrument, or each guitar part, and then building the layers comfortably until it feels as easy and as natural as talking. But..

..I'd love to know what YOU do when you encounter hurdles and roadblocks.

So let me ask you..

What is your process to overcome something challenging?

If you feel drawn to share, it may inspire the next person reading to overcome their biggest hurdle yet. ❤️

Two completely different instruments, but somehow they speak the same language. Truly enjoying this delve into more of this sound lately. ❤️

One guitar. One didgeridoo. Some questionable decisions trying to recreate the sounds of the desert with both at the same time.

Do you think it works?
