Soooooooo…. tysm … thank u Morgan and the @morganclarkedesign1 team for putting in the work to get the truck ready to rip. Thank you to my wife, my mom, my kids, the crew, and everyone who has stood by my side through all of my crazy ideas over the years. The encouragement, advice, support, and belief have meant more than I can explain.The thought of driving the truck on the track and hitting the big jumps was intimidating especially after the carnage.. But once I got behind the wheel, it felt right at home. The truck did exactly what I asked it to do. Responsive, predictable, & smooth. As rewarding as that was, it still wasn’t the best part.The best part was giving my kids rides & hearing how stoked they were at the trucks Performance. Watching them experience something that existed for so long only as an idea was special.Grateful to have finished it and driven it the way that I wanted to, despite how long it took me to save up financially and the timeline of the build it wasn’t about that it was about freaking finishing..showing my friends, my family, and especially my children that if there’s something you want to do… sí se puedeIf you’ve made it this far, here’s an announcement:Speed Metal Festival is coming to another STATE. Once everything is finalized, we’ll share more details. We hope you’ll come celebrate with us when the time comes.For some reason, it still feels like the beginning. There’s so much more left to do. So, I crashed on my 3rd entry of the day and just wanted to keep the car together so for the next 20 laps I took it easy. To be honest I was scared, I kept pushing my speed at entry with zero handbrake initiation throughout the entire day ( I know I know but Sensei LSD said pretend it doesn’t exist for my entry until I can toss the car with weight transfer, timing, speed, and use tire scrub to do the slowing down 😬). The entry was lazy with no heavy flick but a crash can change one’s confidence & I just wanted to be able to give my family rides for the day. I just started 3rd gear entries within the past 7 months and I’m grateful for the little progress but I’m frustrated I’m not able to chuck the car the way I think I am in my head 😆. It feels like CarX in real life and then I look back and I’m going straight. I haven’t had nearly as much driving time like I had the year prior with the car constantly breaking and some serious heavy life stuff clouding my brain. I haven’t been very nice to the car and my lack of experience has caused me to have little mechanical sympathy. I just need to do it again but 1000x more. At the end I am grateful because driving has truly saved me from myself in so many ways time and time again throughout my life. It’s when we do things where we push ourselves that make us feel alive. Driving and everything that goes into these projects have been the single biggest motivators in my life outside of my family. They’ve kept me grounded and have pushed me to become a better person.I know it probably doesn’t make sense to everyone, but having something meaningful to work toward gives me purpose. I enjoy the sacrifice, the planning, and watching an idea slowly become reality. Then, if all is right I get to drive it & it holds together. This journey has introduced me to incredible friends and humbled me in ways I never expected. It’s taught me patience, shown me how much I still have to learn, and reminded me that none of us accomplish anything worthwhile ALONE. I find myself going up and down with my emotions, and I lean heavily on the spark this gives me. I’m grateful for that spark.Lord, thank You for giving me this passion. Through these machines with wheels, You’ve given me peace, lifelong friendships, and a way to feel closer to You.Please keep me humble, keep me safe, and never let me lose sight of what truly matters. Have you ever been? Sequoia trip… 🌲 🪨 ☁️ 🐻 🦌 Sequoia National Park is a must see. I honestly had an incredible time with the kids. Being surrounded by nature’s beauty felt like we were on another planet (Star Wars vibes). Gone for the night... Went to a rave in LA. I grew up (actually) going to underground warehouse raves in LA & SBC . From DJing and having a CREW… It was a huge part of growing up for me. Arshia and I randomly go every once in a while and it’s always an adventure. This last time we caught up with the homie Jorge & his lady. Super fun looking for another one.
