🔥Easter Bowl 2026🔥
4th Place in Boys 14s Doubles

A very long and incredibly hot week in the desert for James. A great run in doubles for James and @evanf_tc by somehow winning 3 matches in 3 consecutive third set tiebreakers. They ran out of gas in the semis but a really good tournament for them nonetheless. 4th place in doubles at the Easter Bowl at still 12 years old is definitely a great accomplishment! Singles for James will be better next year! Thanks to @adidastennis @adidasus #for the great video and pictures they took of James and how much @nroachapproach take care of him throughout the year with shoes and apparel. Thank you to Evan for playing with James. Thanks to @wilsontennis for providing him with all the equipment he needs to be successful. Thanks to @james.l.shapiro for keeping James healthy and fast. Thanks to @icl_academy for providing the flexibility James needs in his academics. And thanks to @sunsethillscountryclub for providing James the best place to play. @easterbowl next year will be very interesting for James! by @jamesborchard

A little late on the 2025 recap… but what a year it was for James on the court.

🏆 2 National Titles
🌍 2 International Titles

Easter Bowl Singles and Doubles Champion.
Eddie Herr / IMG Tournament Doubles Champion and Singles Finalist.
Orange Bowl Doubles Champion and Singles Semifinalist.

Add in a strong collection of other tournament wins, plenty of doubles success alongside great friends, and an unforgettable trip to Greece for the IMG Future Stars event, and it rounds out to a pretty special season.

More than anything, 2025 was about enjoying the game. Keeping things loose in practice. Competing with freedom. Loving the grind, the travel, and the people along the way.
Huge thanks to @wilsontennis and @adidastennis for believing in James and providing with gear and apparel throughout the year, your support is amazing and thank you to @icl_academy for providing the flexibility I need for my education
An incredible year on and off the court. On to 2026. 🎾🌍✨ taken in Sunset Hills Country Club by @jamesborchard

Florida swing: 19–2 against the world’s best.

This trip included the Eddie Herr / IMG Tournament and the Junior Orange Bowl, widely considered the two biggest international junior tennis tournaments in the world. Deepest fields, toughest competition, players from everywhere.

Across both events, James went 19–2, with his only two singles losses coming to the same player, who went on to win both tournaments. Doing that once is hard. Doing it across two separate elite tournaments, in different conditions, is all about consistency.

At Eddie Herr / IMG, James reached the Boys 12s Singles Final and won the Boys 12s Doubles title with @evanf_tc
At the Junior Orange Bowl, he followed it up with a Boys 12s Singles Semifinal and another Doubles title with Evan, completing a Sunshine Double.

Huge thanks to @wilsontennis and @juandi_tennis and @shourya_verma for keeping James fully dialed in with his equipment, and @adidastennis for all the apparel and footwear throughout the trip. Big appreciation to @icl_academy for providing the flexibility that allows James to chase opportunities like this. Thanks as well to @james.l.shapiro for putting in the work on strength and conditioning, and to Dr. E for doing her best to help tame the wild beast that is James.

Being part of @icl_academy has honestly been awesome. The teachers are super helpful, the schedule lets me actually train, and the whole community makes it feel like I’m not doing this alone. I’m really grateful for how much ICL has helped my tennis so far. If you’re chasing your own tennis goals, you should definitely check out ICL. I have really loved how organized the classes are and I know exactly where I am for assignments and what needs to be completed. It has been an A+ 10/10 experience for me! by @jamesborchard

James had an incredible experience at the IMG Future Stars tournament at the beautiful Tatoi Club in Athens. From world-class matches to unforgettable memories to state of the art facilities, the week had it all.

He won his group and advanced to the knockout stage, where he faced the eventual champion in a thrilling quarterfinal showdown. After splitting sets, the third went down to the wire and at 4-4 15-15 a storm came in and forced play to be suspended and moved indoors, where the match continued on clay with the thunder still crashing outside. The final set went down to a tiebreaker which James just barely lost. He lost by a couple points with no excuses and nothing to be ashamed of. It was an epic battle neither player will forget.

Beyond the matches, James joined workshops led by pros from ATP, WTA, Nike, and IMG, diving into topics like nutrition, mindset, and handling pressure on and off the court. He also explored some of Athens’ incredible history, including a visit to the Acropolis.

To top it all off, the experience was even better because he got to share it with his good friend and fellow American, William McGugin—a great week of tennis, learning, and lasting memories.

A huge thank-you to @maxeisenbud and the entire IMG team for putting together such a high-level, inspiring, and unforgettable event. And thank you to @adam_srabes for everything you did to help James for this event. James left this event more motivated than ever and ready to continue his journey! taken in TATOÏ Club by @jamesborchard

James Borchard is 2025 Easter Bowl Boys 12s Singles and Doubles Champion!

What a run for James as he finished the tournament undefeated only losing one set to his fierce singles opponent @realudhamsingh

An incredible final with @realudhamsingh as they had an epic battle and really brought the best out of each other. What a privilege to play a player such as Udham who is not only a fierce competitor but a good friend.

James awesome doubles partner @evanf_tc really shined with him during their doubles run and provided some shots to remember and some great stability for James. It was great for James to have some time to train with @evanf_tc before Easter Bowl so they could develop some winning chemistry.

A huge thanks go out to all the people who have helped James get ready for this event. @wilsontennis @james.l.shapiro @juandiegocuadrado @shourya_verma @crisriveraw @edunava_ @evanf_tc @that_tenniskid @madycleary @chloe.egerer @ustasocal

Thanks to @easterbowltennis for always having such a great tournament and James will be back next year!

And lastly thank you to @icl_academy for providing such a great and flexible learning environment for James which he absolutely loves

The road to the top of the 12s started with very humble beginnings and a love for being on the court. James has a long way to go in his tennis journey but it’s been a fun ride so far. Many hours of games and practice have gone into James development and he has built a strong foundation and can hopefully build on his accomplishments into the next few years! taken in Sunset Hills Country Club by @jamesborchard
