Ballots have arrived! I’m your Mayor James Coleman and I’m running for re-election to the South San Francisco City Council

Over the past 4 years, we have accomplished so much, with record investments into affordable homes ($20+ million), roads ($40+ million), parks ($18+ million), and even a new childcare center ($9 million).

And together, we can achieve so much more to address the many issues we face today and build a better South City that works for all.

Don’t forget to vote by November 5! by @jamescolemanssf

When the world feels dark, South City chooses to be a bright light.

Today, Councilmember James Coleman stood alongside fellow City Councilmembers, City staff, our South San Francisco Police Department and community members as we raised the Pride flag at City Hall — a reminder to our LGBTQ+ brothers, sisters, and siblings that you are seen, valued, and loved for exactly who you are.

In South San Francisco, we believe every person deserves to feel safe, welcome, and proud to be themselves. Happy Pride Month, South City.

Last week the South San Francisco city council voted to pass a resolution banning federal immigration authorities from our city properties and outlining what steps would be taken if city policy or state laws are broken. Together, we can keep our South City community safe! by @jamescolemanssf

From neighborhood walks to shovels in the ground.

Dundee Park’s refresh started with conversations: memories shared, ideas, and hopes for what this space could become. Those voices shaped the design, and fueled the commitment to invest more into a park the neighborhood deserves.

This groundbreaking is about partnership: residents speaking up and partnering with City staff on a shared goal of creating a place for community, or what the kids on the block said: have a meeting space (see, we were listening!)

Next spring, things are going to look a whole lot greener.

ICE and CBP are not welcome in South City, San Mateo County, or anywhere in the Bay Area. Even though Trump says he’s called off federal forces, we must stay alert.

Here’s what you can do:
1️⃣ Use rapid response hotlines to verify ICE sightings before sharing.
2️⃣ Know your rights—everyone has them, no matter your status.

I’m grateful to various organizations and advocates especially Faith in Action, SMC Coalition for Immigrant Rights, Bay Resistance & others building powerful response networks.

Join us today at 5PM at Redwood City County Center to stand with our immigrant communities.

Safety comes from care, not fear. Spread power, not panic. 💪 by @jamescolemanssf
