I’m going to tell you the invisible asset that has done more for my career than any funnel, ad, sales script, or marketing strategy ever could.

It helped me generate 8 figures for partners like Justin Waller, Clavicular, Ben Bader and many more, build trust inside the online creator economy, and become the guy people call when serious opportunities are on the table.

That asset is reputation.

Everyone thinks the game is sales. Or marketing. Or funnels.

Or whatever new framework everyone is studying this week.

But that misses the point. Because the real asset, and most important skillset someone can have is becoming the kind of person other high-value people trust, respect, and respond to.

Because if everything disappeared tomorrow…

I would still be able to rebuild. Not because I’m special (my grandma thinks so).

But the last 6 years, I’ve been building something that no market correction, algorithm change, or platform shutdown can take away:

Reputation.Social capital.Trust.

The real vault is NOT just in the bank account. It is in the relationships.

And no, I do not mean “NeTwOrKInG”

I do not mean collecting business cards, sending cold DMs, or treating every interaction like a transaction. Although, to be clear, I’ve generated over $1.2M alone strictly through in-person events.

So I understand the value of rooms. But the room itself is NOT the asset.

The asset is what people believe about you once you are actually in it.

THAT is the difference.

Surface-level networking gets you a contact and maybe a follow back on IG.

Reputation gets you the callback.

The people who build real leverage understand this. ACCESS is valuable, But access alone is not the advantage. The real advantage is having your name carry weight before you enter the room.

look at it like this:

It is compound interest for relationships. Every time you deliver, you make a deposit. Every time you keep your word, you make a deposit. Every time you help without needing recognition, you make a deposit.

The deposits are made long before the opportunity arrives.

Your network is not a list. It is an asset. It is protection. It is leverage.

Treat it accordingly. by @jamesmcauleyv

Most founders don’t have a sales problem. They have a leadership problem disguised AS a sales problem.

Your reps aren’t lazy because they “don’t care.”

They’re lazy because the environment allows them to be.

No scoreboard. No intensity. No public accountability.
No real consequences.

No compensation plan that actually excites killers.

No RECOGNITION for the people carrying the company. No culture where winning is expected, tracked, celebrated, and demanded.

Then founders wonder why their sales team has low energy, weak follow-up, poor urgency, and inconsistent collections.

A-players do not thrive in soft cultures.
They leave them.

And B/C-players love soft cultures because they can hide inside them.
If your sales meetings are boring, your standards are vague, your pipeline reviews are emotional, your reps don’t know their numbers, your best people feel ignored, and your underperformers face zero pressure…

You don’t have a sales team.
You have a group chat with commission attached. by @jamesmcauleyv
