Becoming a dad changed something in me.

I joined Dad Built because I believe dads matter—not just in the big moments, but in the everyday ones that often go unnoticed.

Showing up. Being present. Providing. Protecting. Encouraging. Praying. Loving our families well. Leading by example. Doing the ordinary things over and over again that help build a strong home.

I don’t want to simply be a dad. I want to be intentional about building something that lasts.

That’s why the mission behind Dad Built connected with me. There are dads all over the country doing the quiet, faithful work of loving and leading their families—and those stories deserve to be told.

I’m proud to be part of a community that reminds men that fatherhood matters, presence matters, and dads matter.

Family Wellness Outreach Center of Mississippi is proud to partner with community organizations for Breaking the Silence: A Community Conversation to End the Stigma on Substance Use Disorder.

These conversations are about bringing our communities together, increasing understanding, reducing stigma, and reminding individuals and families that recovery is possible and no one has to walk this road alone.

• Wednesday, Sept. 16 | Columbus | 9 AM–12 PM

🎓 Facilitator Leader Training
Friday, Sept. 18 | Tupelo | 9 AM–12:30 PM
Attendance at one Community Conversation Session is required to participate in the training.

We invite community leaders, families, educators, churches, service providers, and anyone who wants to make a difference to join the conversation.

Almost 3 years. Over 200 pounds. A completely different life.

The guy in the first two pictures had no idea what the next three years would hold.

I wish I could tell you this journey has been about finally liking what I see in the mirror. But it’s become about something much bigger than that.

It’s about being present.

Being able to get on the floor with my daughter.
Carry her without getting winded.
Chase her when she starts running.
Take her on adventures.
Show up for my wife.
And, Lord willing, be here for a whole lot of years of watching our little girl grow up.

Over 200 pounds gone—and I’m still not finished.

There are days I still see the guy in the first picture when I look in the mirror. There are days the scale doesn’t move. There are still battles with food, confidence, discipline, and the voice that says, “You’ve done enough.”

But becoming a dad gave this journey a different purpose.

I’m not just building a healthier body.
I’m building the dad I want my daughter to have.

That’s what Dad Built means to me.

Not perfect dads.
Not dads who have it all figured out.
Just men deciding that their families are worth showing up for—and becoming a little stronger, healthier, more present, and more intentional along the way.

Over 200 pounds down. One beautiful little reason to keep going.

Built by faith.
Built through hard days.
Built for her.
Dad Built. 💪🏻❤️
