Met up with @jimbutterell & @peter_pipes tonight after work.

All the amazing interiors you’ve seen in Quixall and Hirsty’s came from Jim’s massive brain.

All the incredible branding across everything at @swfcofficial since the takeover has come from Pete and his brilliant @peter_and_paul team.

To do the stuff I’ve been lucky to be involved in at SWFC alongside these two has been, honestly, the best thing I’ve ever been involved in.

Three fellas from Sheffield with a deep love of the club allowed to apply their skills at a thing we care deeply about.

What an honour, what a privilege. 💙🦉

Happy 2nd Birthday to @leahsyard

Well, second birthday of it’s reincarnated second life if you will.

Full of the best of this city. Independent businesses all ooer shop, up and down stairs.

From booze to clobber, podcasters to painters, it’s all going on in this beautiful old bit of Sheffield’s history.

Here’s to many more years of t’yard.

We sat down inside Hirsty’s Social with James O’Hara and Peter (of Peter & Paul) to talk about the rebrand, the badge, the premium experienced, the training ground - all of it.
What came out of it hit harder than expected.
⚡ We came genuinely close to oblivion. If David Storch and the team hadn’t got this over the line, there’s a real chance this club doesn’t exist.
⚡ This isn’t even a rebuild - it’s starting from rock bottom.
⚡ The badge is back to 1973. Not a copy-paste - it’s been tweaked and rebuilt for the modern game.
⚡ Hurst’s Social. Named after the man himself. Waddle’s already been announced for the opening.
⚡ “It’s going to scream Wednesday. It’s going to scream Sheffield.”
Nine months ago this was a club on the edge. Now it’s badges, bars, a rebuilt training ground, 13 new signings - and a fanbase of 30,000+ turning up every week.
This close season wasn’t just a refresh. It was a foundation.

Long post alert! it’s Tramlines time again in Sheffield!

The older I get, the madder I think it is that it ever happened. What a ridiculous thing for a bunch of young people to pull together and pull off. Barmy really.

Always think about Sarah when it comes around every year. The absolute driving force of it from its early days on Dev Green and across the cities venues (although i bet she regrets that t-shirt 😂)

I think she’d still love to see it now, Cleasby still bossing things at Hillsborough. Me, Timm & Kate doing a new thing together with Crossed Wires all these years later and all that original family wherever they are have gone on to do loads of brilliant stuff.

What I absolutely love is that when ‘the thing’ became enormous and went to hillsborough the city still kept the fringe vibe alive. It’s so important that the grass roots took what was started and have ran with it.

I’ll be at a load of it this weekend, the big stuff at Hillsborough, the Kabal all dayer, some random gig in a back room of a pub somewere, catching up with friends, soaking it all in.

What a thing it is for the city I adore.

Thanks to everyone that’s ever played a part in either making it happen or continuing to keep it going. It’s magic. Great stuff happens through collectives, not individuals.

It’s @crossedwiresfest time again in Sheffield!

All kicks off a day earlier this year on Thursday with @badchatclub in the beautiful City Hall and Dead Ringers across the road at Coles.

Then from Friday it’s full on! 80+ shows in total this year including loads of free stuff at the @bbcsounds & @bbcradio4 Fringe, Loose Lips at @leahsyard and the new Centre Stage on Barkers Pool.

Barkers Pool will be our epicentre with amazing food from the likes of @bundobust, @pearlatparkhill, lovely booze from @camdentownbrewery and @p_u_b_l_i_c_ and lots lots more.

Tons of the shows are SOLD OUT but there’s still chance to grab some tickets for a few of them if you look sharp!

Love seeing Sheffield come alive and we couldn’t do this without the amazing support from @olivercoppard and @sheffieldcitycouncil and all our hugely supportive partners.

And I LOVE seeing our lovely branding by this guy @deaks all over the shop. Been working together for, I think, maybe 20 years (?!) on all sorts of silly stuff.

Here we are grinning like imbeciles.

Big love and congrats to @tom_rowley_music on the release of his debut solo album, Moses and the Drones.

He will hate me complimenting him but given he’s not on social media and communicates via smoke signal and carrier pigeon he’ll never fucking find out so tough shit Thomas!

Anyway, a supremely gifted lad with zero ego who’s got an innate sense of taste and has absolutely no idea just how talented he is.

No wonder everyone wants him to be in their bands!
