Have you ever went through an old box and found something from your past that made you think to yourself: This probably contributed to who I am today?

Here's my find.

As a kid, at the start of every year, I would read the inspirational classic, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Even though we did not have excess, nor did the people we associated with, I had an obsession with beautiful people, the power of money, and expensive things, so I always kept a crisp $100 bill as my bookmark - it made me feel rich. It took me a minute to save my first $100 dollars, this was not given to me.

Although I did commit to reading this book, I was not an efficient reader. I stumbled on basic words and regularly fell asleep mid-sentence. Ha, unfortunately, I still do, especially if it's something I really don't see benefit in. In effort to not lose my place, I relied on a 3.2 oz Sterling Silver brick which I carried on me at all times. I used it as a weight to keep the pages from turning.

Anyway, that's my incomplete story and a picture I took a few minutes ago of the book, a $100 that I found flipping though it, and the piece of silver I no longer carry, but for some reason stayed with the book.

Hm, I think I'll take this as a sign that I need pick this habit back up.

Mom's seafood gumbo is better than narcotics.

I was recently required to take narcotics for a medical procedure. When I got home, I felt no pain in the area of the procedure, or in any other area of my body at that. Where I would typically feel pain due to the accidents I experienced as a carefree child through my obnoxious teen years, they no longer existed. Even areas of my body I did not realize I had pain until this moment were now pain free.

What is this wizardry?

If I had to describe how my body felt, it was like I was born again with a belly full of my Mama's seafood gumbo. It felt so amazing.

Being that I have an extremely addictive personality, I am mindful of the things I consume and the activities I participate in. And at this moment, I came to the conclusion, it's not the drug people get addicted to, it's this feeling. The feeling of no pain. The ability to move freely without limitation or the anxiety associated with pain. You become addicted to being pain free, free.

Anyway, NO, I am NOT taking the pain meds, and NO, they were not over prescribed. I have what was considered a concerning high pain tolerance as a kid (and still do) and am only sharing my recent experience.

What do women want?

Looking for affordable gift ideas that women use regularly, but unless you owned it, you wouldn't know how much you needed it.

Could use the same thing for men gadgets and pets supplies/toys.

Ideally, affordable is under $100. No, I do not consider $100 affordable, but I also do not want to miss something that could be life-changing; plus, others may see something they want to get for someone.
