The last post I sent out didn’t have a live link which allowed you to go to the SCA website with my page, my apologies for not noticing that. So this time I brought the art to you. IG only allows 20 pictures, so I picked my 20 favorites here. If you want to see more, I encourage you to go to the society of Canadian artists’ website and find member’s directory in the side menu. I hope you will, and please contact me if you’re interested in hearing any stories behind these pieces. It feels like a little retrospective, looking back on the past 12 years of painting. It has been a privilege to work on my craft, and hopefully keep learning as I go. That part is a constant journey. It’s also been a pleasure to have had you all as followers, friends, and supporters of said journey. I wish I could be more consistent as a documentarian, but then again, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Happy to announce that these two piece’s were well-received at the midsummer’s eve of the arts this year, and found good homes. The MEA is the Vernon Public Art Gallery’s largest fundraiser, and this year was its 40th anniversary. Golden RoadOil on canvas 48”x 72”Light Journey Oil on canvas 48”x 48”A record breaking total of $118,000 was raised this year, the fourth year in a row for record breaking proceeds! Hey everyone,I hope you’re enjoying this spring as much as I am, the only problem is it’s going by so fast. I’ve been busy in the studio, in between other projects and life, exploring something different from what I usually do, which I plan to eventually share, but in the meantime I’m welcoming suggestions for a title for my new oil painting. 40”x 30” oil on linenI have a couple of ideas which are okay, but sometimes fresh ideas are good, so share them if you got ‘em. Just sharing a little progress video of this labor of love. This painting brings back memories of our trip to Vancouver in 2021, during an epic rain event that the province never forgot. The photos my wife took while I drove, will forever contain the essence of coziness and comfort I felt while plowing through incessant rain. Wishing you a very happy autumn, and all the enticing sensory experiences synonymous with it. I have to admit that when I’m out walking through wind-blown groves of trees, seeing more colors than can possibly be processed: deep blue and turquoise, mauves, purples, dark cherry reds, rusts, retina-searing pinks, lime greens and yellows, I feel like I could count fall as one of my favorite seasons. Another week almost over, and I’m trying to keep up with recent events in my life. I was really pleased to see that the painting I donated to the art splash auction last Saturday, went for higher than its fair market value. Also happy to find out that the auction raised an astounding $1.73 million!
