Welcome to Vantage.

This isn’t just a new name.

It’s a new standard.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve taken a step back and really evaluated where I’m heading, as a coach, as an athlete, and as a business.

Growth demands change. And sometimes that means stripping everything back and rebuilding with intention.

Vantage represents that reset.

By definition, it means a higher perspective, a vantage point, and that’s exactly what I want to give every client I work with: clarity, structure, and a smarter way to progress.

For those who don’t know me, I’m James.

Former rugby player. Competitive powerlifter. Now an amateur bodybuilder. MSc Sports Nutritionist. Personal Trainer. Online Coach.

But more than that, I’m someone obsessed with progression. With doing things properly. With raising standards.

Vantage Coaching is built around:
• High-level 1:1 personal training
• Evidence-based nutrition
• Bespoke supplementation programming
• Structured online coaching
• Accountability beyond the gym floor

This is holistic development. Not just workouts. Not just meal plans. Real change, physically and mentally.

Whether you’re a competitive athlete or someone ready to finally commit to yourself properly, if you want to move forward, we move properly.

New name. New identity. Same relentless standard.

DO YOU REALLY NEED A COACH TO COMPETE?

We asked PCA first-timer Joel whether having a coach made a difference during his bodybuilding prep…

His answer? ABSOLUTELY. 💯

From training and nutrition to the mental challenges of prep, Joel explains how having the right guidance completely changed his experience for the better.

💭 Could you prep for a bodybuilding show on your own, or is a coach essential?

WEEKLY RECAP

Pretty standard week of hectic nature. Back to backs from 11am five days a week, Chloe’s dad bday, meal prep for the boss and passed the first assessment of the sports masseuse course. Onwards and upwards business as usual by @jamesvantagecoaching

SPORTS MASSAGE | RECOVERY. MOVEMENT. PERFORMANCE.

Sports massage isn’t just for athletes, and it certainly isn’t something you should only consider when you’re injured.

Whether you’re training five times a week, spending eight hours a day behind a desk, or simply dealing with persistent muscular tightness, looking after your body should be a priority.

Sports massage involves targeted soft tissue techniques designed to help manage muscular tension, improve comfort and support your body’s ability to move freely.

SO WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

* Reduce muscular tension and stiffness
* Support short-term improvements in flexibility and range of motion
* Help manage post-training soreness
* Promote relaxation and recovery
* Identify areas of discomfort and movement restriction
* Complement your training and wider recovery routine

One thing I want to emphasise is that sports massage isn’t a quick fix.

It’s another tool in the toolbox. Just like resistance training, adequate sleep, good nutrition and appropriate recovery, it has its place in helping you look after your body.

You don’t need to be injured to benefit from treatment, and you certainly don’t need to be competing at an elite level.

At VANTAGE, the aim is simple.

Help you move better, feel better and understand your body a little more.

With my background in strength and conditioning, personal training and performance nutrition, I want to bring a more rounded approach to how we manage training, movement and recovery.

Sports massage appointments will be coming soon to the Rugby area.

Feel free to drop me a message if you’d like to know more.

🚨 1 in 8 people are prediabetic and don’t even know it.

The scary part? Prediabetes often comes with no obvious symptoms.

Your blood sugar could be higher than it should be without you ever realising.

🩸 An HbA1c blood test measures your average blood glucose levels over the past 2–3 months, helping identify early warning signs before they develop into something more serious.

The earlier you know, the sooner you can take action.

Don’t guess. Test. Know your numbers. 📊

LIFE UPDATE

Weekend with a worldie and more time for us. Pretty cool week that marked the first time in the last 3-4 years I’ve been able to give back to myself, no more working 4am until midday a pinnacle part of business where the pay off starts to come in. At the age of 25 I’ll take it.
_

More importantly I’m able to be more present and spend time with the boss who puts up with more shite than is due. Health and lifestyle on the up the relentless days of 18 hour work days have been paused until I get antsy and feel like I’ve not done enough.
_

Time to train like I should have been, be present and soak in an average lad from the south isn’t doing half bad.
_

Also just got confirmation from the big boss @dan.momentumcoaching that I need to be healthy or no bottles of The Governor, padrons or chorizo on the next momentum Spanish escape (all I needed for motivation)

THE NEXT ADDITION TO VANTAGE.

I’d like to welcome Saxon to the team.

As Vantage continues to develop, bringing the right people into the business is something I take seriously.

For me, coaching has never been about simply giving someone a training plan, counting their reps and sending them on their way.

It’s about understanding the individual, educating them, holding them accountable and ultimately providing a service that delivers.

Saxon comes into the team with experience as a personal trainer, coach and competitive physique athlete. Someone who understands the work involved in improving your physique, but more importantly, the consistency and discipline required to maintain that progress.

WHAT WILL SAXON BE OFFERING?

• 1:1 personal training at Xtreme Fitness Rugby
• Individualised training and nutrition programming
• Online coaching and weekly check-ins
• Progress monitoring and ongoing adjustments
• 24/7 support, education and accountability

One thing I want to make clear is that you don’t need to be an athlete to receive a high standard of coaching.

Whether you’ve never stepped foot in a gym, have been training for years or simply want to take your physique and health more seriously, the principles remain the same.

Understand the individual. Build a plan around them. Execute consistently. Assess. Adjust. Progress.

No unnecessary complications. No generic approach. Just good coaching and a willingness to put the work in.

I’m looking forward to having Saxon on board and seeing what we can continue to build with Vantage.

For anyone interested in working with Saxon, you can contact him privately, message this page or enquire through Xtreme Fitness Rugby.

Welcome to the team mate. @saxonvantagecoaching @s.munden.edge
