There’s no such thing as a bad idea… maybe. Although this is definitely up there! On the plus side, it was lovely to watch sunset from somewhere over the back of Blencathra, and to see Ullswater by moonlight. Made it 35km round and gained 3000m of elevation, but the legs told me they’d had enough on Helvellyn so we bailed down Birkside to Thirlmere at 3am. Stoked to have equally daft friends to try these things with me, stoked we’ve all got excellent wives and partners to support us. Chapeau to @jamesstapleton1 who made it to Wasdale. Legend status right there

Tuesday nights done right, with a trip over Lad Hows to Crummock then back via Rannerdale, Sail Beck and Rigg Beck. Yes it was dark by the time we got to Rigg Beck, no we didn’t have lights. Good job the World Cup is on - meant the pub was still open when we rolled into Keswick at 11.20 🤣 Outrageously good times with good people

Issue 167 of @singletrackmagazine arrived today.

Loosely themed old / new. @benjihaworth did a top job of herding words. Had fun doing some new things with the design, more to come.

New bike(s) day! The last few months have been pretty hectic shooting a whole bunch of content for the new Ultra Road and AllRoad Carbon launched today from @ribble_cycles . Over 35 individual builds needing 20+ studio images each, a two day lifestyle shoot in Otley working alongside @freshbritain_ with the team from @commuterfilms handling video duties, and a limited edition, hand painted iridescent white bike that needed some killer hero shots taking in the paint booth. Stick a fork in me, I’m done!

To celebrate the opening of @ribble_cycles new Leeds store, Bobby was let loose with some masking tape and a spray gun. Taking inspiration from his masking process, I created these images. No photoshop, no ai. Just some walls, paint and rolls of masking tape on the floor of the warehouse

It’s good to scare yourself every now and then. Brain took a lot of convincing to let go of the brake levers, then I didn’t fully commit to the right hander. Only one thing for it, go back and have another go… Great success! And many many thanks to the builders - the whole track is an absolute delight 🤌🏻

40 participants. 8 riddles. 1 map. 0 idea what they’d signed up for.

Kendal turned into the course, with runners working together to navigate between checkpoints, unlocking each clue as they went, with extra challenges at each stop for additional prizes.

A mix of movement, problem solving and plenty of teamwork throughout.

Finishing at Bakery No.4 with pizza, beers, a DJ and a big raffle packed with prizes, it was a perfect way to catch up with friends, meet new ones and make the most of a bluebird Lake District day.

I’ve always been a fan of a gritty b&w portrait, so here are a few selects from the Langdales recently. Sharing a couple of these in my stories a while back elicited this message which touched me more than I expected: “I guess I pride myself on understanding how things work but I do not know how you take these beautiful pictures…”
Honestly, I don’t know either mate. Going to keep searching for the answer though and it’ll be fun trying to figure it out
