Another great night at Tri-County Speedway!
Carter qualified P12 but worked his way up to P2 with 30 laps to go. It looked like he had a real shot at the win if the race stayed green to the finish. Unfortunately, a caution came out with 9 to go, things got a little wild on the restart, and he ended up P4.
But the highlight of my night came after the race at the scales.
I could see the disappointment all over Carter’s face. He looked up at me and said, “I guess it’s good that I’m this disappointed with 4th. A year ago, this would have felt like a win.”
That one comment really stuck with me.
Life is all about perspective, and sometimes it takes a moment like that to realize just how far you've come. I couldn't be more proud of the growth I've seen in Carter, not just as a driver, but as a person, over the past 12 months.
Seven consecutive Top 5 finishes. Pretty incredible when you think about where we were a year ago. by @jamiecmcmurray
