Another incredible weekend on the board.

Last week we launched our first-ever @BusanCalling event (though technically second if you count Debaser Festival last year).

I really think it was one of the best events I’ve been involved with.

It was topped off by getting some praise from one of my fave artists - Kirara!! So honoured. (Thanks Matthew for capturing it).

Thanks to everyone who came and made it really awesome. We can’t wait to see you all again.

Can’t believe it’s already been two months since the special day.

Back in February, I got to marry the kindest, sweetest, prettiest, most patient little tofu in the world.

And I got to do it in front of our families and best pals.

It was a really great day with loads of fun, music, dancing, eating, drinking, and all-around celebrating. ing to

I almost died of a panic attack trying to do my Korean speech. We got to cut the cake with a massive sword. And, of course, that dance…

I’m so grateful to everyone who came and especially those who helped us on our special day.

And eternally grateful to my wonderful WIFE (still feels crazy to say it) Heeyoung for agreeing to put up with me forever.

Today, the @debasermagazine writing team did their top 10 songs of the year.

However, I went ahead and did a whole top 100(ish).

I listened to A LOT of new music this year so even boiling it down to 100 was tough with some really good stuff not featured.

My only rule was only one song per artist (otherwise half of the list would have been Brian Shin).

What. A. Weekend!

Block Party 2025 was nuts. Probably the best one yet!!

I want to thank everyone who made it such a special weekend.

Of course, more than anyone, I have to thank the team - @please_madmoon, @copgraveyard, and @_charitylynn_. You guys are amazing. This whole festival wouldn’t have been possible without you. There really aren’t enough words to express how thankful I am to these three people for putting up with me for the last 6 months. Much much love.

To all the staff on the day who made everything run as smoothly as possible, thank you. You were incredible.

Thank you to all the amazing performers who take part in the festival. Thank you for coming to our little festival, making it a great party. People loved it!

A huge thanks to all the venues that participated and opened the door to Block Party, thank you thank you thank you. Your hard work is truly appreciated.

Thank you to the team at HBC Haebang Week for working with us.

And finally, thank you so much to everyone who came and spent a wild weekend with us. You always bring such great energy and enthusiasm to Block Party but this year, you were CRAZY.

DJ Jamie will be returning to Pet Sounds this weekend playing a night of the best of Korean indie, rock, and more.

British-born DJ Jamie has been living in Korea for over a decade. During that time, he has become a huge fan of the local indie scene. So much so that he started a magazine (Debaser Magazine @debasermagazine) to promote and cover the world of Korean indie.

This Friday, between 8pm and 12am, he will be playing a set featuring all of his favourite Korean indie and rock music. There’ll be some big festival headliners, cult favourites, retro songs, and a few lesser known tracks to get everyone singing.

After 12am, DJ Jamie will play a mix of Korean indie with classic indie rock tunes from the globe including Britpop, grunge, pop-punk, new wave, classic rock, retro pop and more.

DJ Jamie가 이번 주말에 펫 사운즈로 오랜만에 컴백해서, 한국 인디·록 음악 중심의 베스트 트랙을 선사할 예정입니다

영국 출신이지만 한국에서 10년 넘게 거주한 DJ Jamie는 국내 인디 음악에 깊은 애정을 갖고 있습니다. 그 열정의 결과로 Debaser Magazine(@debasermagazine)을 창간해 한국 인디씬을 알리고 소개해오기도 했습니다.

이번 금요일 저녁 8시부터 자정까지, 그는 자신이 가장 좋아하는 한국 인디와 록 음악만을 엄선한 DJ 세트를 선보일 예정입니다. 대형 페스티벌 헤드라이너뿐만 아니라, 컬트적인 인기곡, 추억을 자극하는 레트로 곡, 그리고 덜 알려졌지만 모두가 함께 즐길 수 있는 감성적인 트랙까지 다양하게 준비했습니다.

I love throwing music parties, me.

This was my first big festival in Busan and it was *mostly* a big success.

It was two great days of fun, drinking, music, and friends. And drinking.

Saw some of my favourite bands, made some new mates and saw all the old crowd. Couldn’t really ask for me.

This was our first go at this (and the first one where I planned the thing mostly solo). So we still have a lot to learn to make it better.

I want to say a huge thank you to some people.

Busan superstar Yeon (@yeonja_busan) and the whole team at Good Carpenters (@goodcarpenters_records) who were super helpful in making this a success. I really hope we can work together.

My right-hand guy, Maddy (@please_madmoon), for always giving advice and translating stuff for me. Ditto Heeyoung for the same reason.

The awesome team who helped on the day, including our amazing sound technicians. There’s too many to even name here.

SUPEEEEERRR huge thank you to the venues. They went above and beyond to try and help - can’t thank them enough - @ol55busan, @ovantgarde, @denguefever15, @moment.busan.

Finally, the main people I need to thank are all the artists who agreed to be part of the event. Small fests like this would be nothing without the music community who make them happen and as long as people want to keep being part of them, I’ll keep organising them.
