In the midst of suffering, there is hope available to us all. It's the craziest thing, and honestly, I can't make sense of it without the good news of Jesus.

During the last week's podcast, Toni and I discussed suffering. If you haven't read Dr. Curt Thompson's latest book, THE DEEPEST PLACE: SUFFERING AND THE FORMATION OF HOPE, I highly suggest you do so and listen to the latest season of his podcast, the BEING KNOWN podcast.

I'd love to hear from you ... how have you found hope in the midst of suffering? by @jamieivey

Walking has been the greatest gift in my life over the past 18 months and especially recently. Last Summer so many of us walked 30 minutes 30 days in a row!! That was such a fun challenge, and I knew I wanted more - I wanted to walk a full marathon!!

I shared my dream with my friend @alisakeeton and next thing I know I’m signed up to walk 26.2 miles in Hawaii!!!

I’d love to invite you to train with us for whatever distance you wanna walk! Check out @revelationwellness for all the details as to how to sign up!!!!

It's never too late for a book club party! I know this book came out a few months ago, but we're finally starting to read it together, and I couldn't be happier about it!

I wrote this book for all of us who, at one point or another, have wondered what is wrong with us because we can't seem to get it together. We find ourselves looking around and wondering how everyone else seems to be so put together. We wonder if something might be wrong with us.

I'm here to say, if that's you, welcome to the club. It's life. It's hard. We often feel like we can't get it together. I'll spoil the lead of the book here ... often getting it together looks nothing like you thought it would. Often, getting it together means tackling the same thing over and over again. Often, getting it together means laying down things you love in order to focus on the things that matter. Often, getting it together means facing the reality of our lives and making changes.

I'd love for you to join us as we read this together over the next few weeks. Come join us!

In January, I recorded a show with my friend Jennie to celebrate the release of our books Untangle Your Emotions and Why Can't I Get It Together! We held that show until this past week, and I'm so happy for you to hear the conversation.

Jennie has put in so much work on the subject of our emotions. The unique benefit I have as her friend is to see the work she's done in private in order to share this book with you!

In this episode, you'll hear Jennie emphasize the importance of untangling and understanding emotions. She challenges us to share our emotions with our community and is transparent about how this practice has transformed her own life! I believe in the words of both of these books so much and trust this conversation will be a huge encouragement to you.

I took this photo exactly one month after Aaron arrived back home. I sent it to my friend Alisa to show her I was caring for myself by moving my body and getting fresh air. The last three months have been the hardest of my life, but I've also found some of the sweetest moments in them.

I'm going to be honest. Showing up back on Instagram has been hard and complicated. My work is on the internet, yet it's hard to be online right now.
I'm scared. I find myself caring about what people think. Then, I find myself not caring at all what people think. It's just been hard.

I don't know how to talk about my pain and healing here quite yet. I have found myself wanting to share this week about a few things, yet it still feels so raw to me. (That podcast recording last week was scary enough!) So, if you are wondering, I'm gonna try and keep a safe distance between my healing journey and these squares on the internet. My friends and family know my journey, and that's all that matters right now. I'm on a healing journey, and it's not gonna be easy or quick.

I will continue to share about my podcast, book, walking journey (marathon in December!), and whatever other fun things I have, but my personal healing feels raw. I'll live that out in real-time with my people.

I'm going to be authentic here with a million boundaries in place. I just wanted to remind us all that we are in control of what we share here. It doesn't mean we're hiding; it means we're being responsible with our journey. by @jamieivey

“My life has been built on what God can do.”

My life foundation is strong. God, His people, and His promises are what I’m standing on. I’ve seen and heard of him doing the unthinkable, and therefore my hands are open, trusting Him to do things only he can do in my life, my kids lives, my family, Aaron’s life, and my marriage.

I'm so excited about re-launching two things this month...

1. This book of mine! It was released the week my world fell apart, and I just immediately went underground and didn't get to give it the love it deserved.

The best part about this book is that I wrote it months and months and months ago, and yet, standing here in the midst of pain I didn't have when I wrote it, all the words are still true—even more true, actually.

I have experienced so many seasons, days, and minutes of wondering if I'll ever get it together, and I have a suspicion you, too, can relate. The truth is that getting it together is a continual process. One we will do over and over again in life, and the more you do it, the better you get at it. I'm a work in progress, and so are you. Yet, we have so much hope in this life because we're not alone.

Grab a copy wherever you get books (it's on sale on Amazon right now!), and then join us this month in our book club!

2. The Jamie Ivey Book Club is relaunching on a new platform, and we want you to join us! Do you like to read? This is for you. Do you like to talk about books? This is for you. Wanna hang out with me? This is for you. Want me to come talk about books with you in your city? This is for you.

happy birthday to my dear friend @jamieivey there’s so much to say about her…

1 there’s no #StillColoringPodcast without Jamie. she encouraged me, launched me, and gave me the courage to use my voice in a brand new way in the face of doubt and fear

2 shes helped me claw my way out of the darkest valleys of my life and remained so consistent. she would call or text me every single day for more than 3 months

3 she’s resilient and honest. when her world fell apart in February she called her people, she didn’t heal alone, and she has fought to forgive, and sit in the messiness of grace. she’s acted like Jesus

4 she knows how to sit in disappointment until God redeems it. today we’re relaunching her book into the world after it didn’t have a fair shot at the impact it’s rightfully owed.

so today I need my people to show up for the woman who showed up for me and for so many for all of these years.

head to Amazon, search “Why Can’t I Get it Together?” and place your order. It’ll get to you super quick and you’ll be able to read the words she’s given to all of us in the darkest valley of your own.

Jamie, I love you sis. I’ve got your back, I’ll never give up on you or your precious family. I’ve been privileged to see you at home, on stages, in Africa, at the best food places, on zooms and you never change. You’re an unwavering friend, my friend, that God gave me in 2020. With you always my girl. Always. by @jamieivey

🎂46. Last night my family took me out to celebrate my birthday. My most favorite thing we do as a family is toast the birthday person. Everyone goes around the table, looks the birthday person in the eyes, and says the most lovely things about them. I’ll never forget the things my five people said about me last night. Thank you Lord, for my people.
-
Some of the hardest work I’ve done in the last three months has been to help my kids. To be steady. To be strong. To be safe. To be available. All for them. I haven’t done it perfectly, but I’ve tried my absolute best, and last night it was evident that they have felt my efforts. ❤️
-
I’m hopeful. This might be my hardest year yet, but it could also be my most fruitful. Only God could make that happen, and I believe it’s possible. by @jamieivey
