현재 참여중인 더 갤러리 호수 @thegalleryhosu 개관전이 3월 14일까지 연장되었습니다. 이번 전시에는 회화, 설치, 조각 등 다양한 작품들이 두 전시장과 야외 전시장에 전시되어 있습니다. 저는 제2전시장에 예전 대형 회화 두 점과 새 설치 작품을 전시 중입니다. 조금은 따뜻해진 3월, 잠실 석촌호수 근처 방문 예정이시면 편히 들려주세요 🙂

The group exhibition at The Gallery Hosu @thegalleryhosu that I’m participating in has been extended until March 14! The show features a variety of works, including paintings, installations, and sculptures. I’m exhibiting two of my old large paintings along with a new installation piece. Everything will be alright
(다 괜찮아질 거예요)

During my long time abroad, away from family, whenever a wave of fear surged over me I would chant to myself to be rid of my weakness, "Everything will be alright." Once I had repeated this to myself over and over, everything strangely would go the way I wanted it to as if by magic.

The paper shapes, which are formed with holes is the embodiment of my mind and heart, an endless filling and emptying, of the times that I would repeat to myself in invocation.

“Everything will be alright" for this hard time that we are experiencing right now too as long as we believe in ourselves.

가족을 떠나 오랜 외국 생활을 하는 동안 두려움이 밀려오는 시간의 나약함을 버리는 방법은 내 자신에게 주문을 거는 거였다. "다 괜찮아질 거야." 그렇게 내 자신에게 수없이 말을 하고 나면 신기하게도 모든 일이 내가 바라는 대로 이루어지는 마법같은 일이 일어나곤 했다.

캔버스 회화에서 이어지는 잘라낸 구멍들로 이루어진 종이의 형상은 내 자신에게 주문을 걸던 그 시간의 혼잣말로 끊임없이 채워지고 비워졌던 심상을 표현한다.

지금 우리가 겪고 있는 힘든 시간도 믿음을 버리지 않는다면 시간이 조금 걸릴 뿐 “다 괜찮아질 거예요."

The images in my work emerge naturally, almost unconsciously, as reflections of what rises within me. Lately, I’ve noticed flowers appearing again in my pieces—perhaps a sign that spring is on its way. Or maybe, it’s my own quiet longing for its arrival 🌸🌸🌼

내 마음속 떠 오르는 형상들이 내 작품안에 자연스럽게 담겨진다. 요즘 꽃들이 다양한 형상으로 내 작품에 표현되는 걸 보니 곧 봄이 오려나보다. 아니면 봄이 오길 기다리는 나의 소망일지도 🌷
