A summer full of dance!!! This summer I had the opportunity to teach hip hop, contemporary, and acro at @magnoliadanceacademy summer intensive. Camp 1, 2, and 3 were all a pleasure to teach with such open minds to try new approaches to choreography and improvisation. I had the best summer working back home at MDA growing my confidence in teaching and choreographing. Thank you so much for having me, and I hope you guys have a wonderful 2026-2027 season!!! 🩵😚🤩

Here are some clips of the combos we did these past 5 weeks!

Jealousy is often defined as envy toward someone else’s achievements or advantages but in spaces like dance, it becomes something deeper. Junior dance and communications double major Jamie Cook invites you in on how jealousy manifests in an environment where validation is currency. When everyone is reaching for the same opportunity, it can be hard to celebrate others without quietly comparing yourself. Smiles can feel layered, compliments can sting, and perfection starts to feel like a moving target. This piece explores how jealousy shapes the way we see ourselves and measure our worth against others. Jamie would like to thank her collaborative cast and her amazing mentor Susannah LeMarquand. Jealously can isolate us, pulling our focus inward to what we believe we lack. Yet it can also illuminate what we long for, connecting us through a shared desire.

Overwhelmed with joy! I love this program, thank you @utampadance ❤️

Do you ever feel watched in a way you just can’t put your finger on? or maybe that eyes are on you despite being alone? Junior dance and communications double major Jamie Cook invites you to take on a new perspective in our ever-changing world of technology. Cameras peer down from corners, phones whisper data, and even the glow of a laptop feels like a set of eyes watching back. For Jamie, the eerie truth is that surveillance doesn’t just watch, it seeps in, and reshapes what it means to be human. In her media classes, Jamie studies how our society normalizes this surveillance and turns our back to our lack of privacy. Jamie would like to thank her incredible cast, her wonderful mentor Leanne, and her amazing UTampa Dance family. After watching her piece “Surveillance State” Jamie hopes to have opened your eyes to how powerful technology can be and question, what is constantly watching you?

Overwhelmed with joy, I love this program. Thank you @utampadance ❤️
