For my birthday, I had a creative play day. Made a few things, then mashed them together. (Also tried the flower painting technique where you hold actual flowers over the paper and draw the shadows, which was fun but looks so similar to my normal style) Thanks to my sweet mom and hubs for buying me flowers!

Going through thousands of originals and proofs this weekend. It’s fun to revisit old work but what to keep and what to toss is overwhelming 🫠. All my hoarders holler. How much of a project do you keep? by @jamierunnells

Back on those seaweed stencils. Maybe some sea life is hanging out in there? Who could say?

I was looking for an image on my hard drive last night and ended up way down a rabbit hole of old projects such as this: my version of a @stillherestilllife. I also found a million other projects I’d like to revisit! #creativeplay #sketchbookmining by @jamierunnells

I found some stencils I made as part of an artist book project MANY years ago (featuring British junk food recontextualized as sea life). My hoarding proved fruitful—I’m having fun playing with the stencils! May have to revisit the junk food as well!

A few years ago I was part of a residency in Norway with some amazing artists. I led a creative play workshop with them and made these posters with the results! I’m booking some creative play workshops for next year, holler if you’re interested!

Playing around with some ideas (or maybe eye-deas). Not quite right yet but getting there.
