Back of the net, we did it. 🙏🏆

Thank you to the @sjainsta and big congratulations to all the other nominees on a great year in their respective sports.

My ten pence of advice to anybody with a dream to work in sports broadcasting is just bloody go for it and sod anyone who tells you that you can’t do it.

I consider myself so privileged to do the job I do, which certainly doesn’t feel like a job. I am passionate about the sport of boxing and every journey of each fighter that we represent. To be able to share 1% of their moments on their journey with them in post-fight interviews, be it making a debut, winning an area title or becoming world champion is a responsibility I cherish and absolutely love.

I want to thank everybody at @matchroomboxing and @daznboxing for every opportunity. Particularly my wonderful producer Jim Bentley who is the absolute best bloke and mentor. My wingman and great friend @mrdfbarker for making every day fun and of course @eddiehearn, @franksmith and Katie Hearn for always backing me on the biggest of stages.

A special thank you also must go to @tony.davison.3726 for every early lift he gave me to Matchroom HQ in Brentwood and getting me my first gig as tea boy. As well as @scotthammertime for the first opportunity on the social team. Without you all this wouldn’t have happened. And of course my family - Dr. @evegroome_, Jim Sr, Christine, Shona and Fiona.

I thank God for yesterday which was probably the proudest day of my life.

Onwards and upwards! 🍀❤️

I’d like to dedicate this award to my late friend, Tariq. I know you’re up there watching big boy and believe me, you give me more strength than you will ever know to do what I do.

To all who knew him, all the boys and of course to John, Laila, Zaki, Idris and all of the Dowd family, this one is for you. by @jamieward__

Not sure who slipped Michael Buffer and Eddie Hearn a few quid to say that but happy days. A privilege to host a World Heavyweight Title press conference today for the first time in my career. I’m just a plonker from Newport, Essex. #UsykRico by @jamieward__

I had the pleasure of joining my great friend and wingman, @mrdfbarker recently for a small section of his amazing @thelongestroundchallenge. What an incredible thing he is doing, spreading awareness and shouting such an important message from the rooftops. Contrary to what you all might’ve thought, I found it very difficult. Keep going, Dazzling! 💪❤️

Thank you, @katie_t86 🍀💚

What an honour to get to know you over the last 7 years. You epitomise the word role model. How magical you got to see in real time in front of 80,000 what you mean to Ireland and to everybody. Lost for words for how special last night was but it’s absolutely what you deserved. There will never be another like you. 🙏 taken in Dublin, Ireland by @jamieward__
