🖨️ First Draft: Printed!

It’s the first in a new series that I’m not going to tell you anything about I’m afraid ☕️

There’s a bit of finessing and editing to do still, but I’ve really enjoyed writing this one – 70,000 words in ten weeks!

Just finished @louisascarrwriter’s brilliant LEICESTER SQUARE!

Had a brilliant night listening to Dr Julius Green, the foremost expert on Agatha Christie’s theatrical career.

It was at @rssatmwt’s lovely theatre just a stones throw from the Thames.

Sprinkled through Dr Green’s talk were scenes from Agatha Christie’s plays performed by members of the Richmond Shakespeare Society.

He also mentioned the anecdote from one of Christie’s producers about the neon light burning out on the theatre sign for her play Verdict so it read “Peter Saunders resents” – a story I forgot that I stole and snuck into my theatrical murder mystery Death on the Pier!

I didn’t get a chance to make it down to this year’s International Agatha Christie Festival, so it was great to get my Christie fix in London!

Miss Marple is back thanks to this new continuation novel by @lucyfoleyauthor set in the Swiss Alps.

Skiing nuns, buried secrets and a few cases of people not being what they seem. This was a really fun read with an enjoyable mystery to unpick.

This is another irresistible and glamorous historical novel from the brilliant Alex Hay.

A glittering guest list, dangerous debts to be settled and a delve into secrets from the past. I thought it was a stylish, addictive read from start to finish and you’ll absolutely love it!

I’ve been a bit quiet online recently – I’ve been busy!

This summer in Edinburgh there’s been a book festival, the fringe festival, a few shows and some stand-up, but mainly I’ve been doing a lot of writing – 50,000 words worth.

It’s for a new series I’m working on (not set in Edinburgh, actually!) and having a few weeks dedicated to writing it has been really helpful.
