Still a student. Now a teacher.

One of the things I’m most grateful for is that every chapter of my journey through sports has prepared me for the next.

This fall, I’m honored to join the faculty at @carthagecollege as an Adjunct Instructor in the Master’s in Sport Management program, where I’ll be teaching Innovative Strategy in Sport.

I’m excited to learn alongside the next generation of leaders while bringing real-world perspectives into the classroom from across the sport industry.

This isn’t just about teaching a class.

It’s about creating conversations, connecting perspectives, and preparing future leaders for an industry that’s changing every day.

I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to learn alongside the next generation of leaders in sport.

Here’s to the next chapter. 🙏🏾

Empty, but full at the same time
Poured out. Poured into. Grateful for both.

Spent the past few days in Indianapolis with the @ncaa Legacy Lab facilitating conversations around NIL, athlete influence, identity, relationships, and opportunity.

We talked about more than deals and follower counts.

We talked about who you are beyond the jersey, the value you already carry, the barriers that keep athletes from putting themselves out there, and how to create movement instead of waiting to be discovered.

Sharing what’s worked.
Admitting what’s uncomfortable.
Challenging assumptions.
Finding another way to see the problem.

A reminder I’m leaving with:
Your sport may introduce you. It doesn’t have to define you.

Appreciate the NCAA Leadership Development team for trusting me with the room and every student-athlete who I was able to serve. 🧱

Coach Tressel @ltgovjimtressel was always more than a coach.

Today, Ohio State made it permanent.

His name now lives in the Ring of Honor, forever inside the stadium where so many memorable moments were made.

Beyond the impact on the field, his most lasting legacy is the character he always displayed and influence he had on me and so many others throughout our years calling him Coach. He built leaders on and off the field. This recognition was long overdue, and it’s the least we can do to recognize our Coach!

When you bring young athletes into a room and give them permission to create, explore and imagine beyond the boundaries of sport, you get to see just how much is already there.

Human-Athlete.
Athlete-Student.
Athlete-Entrepreneur.
Athlete-Artist.
Athlete-Leader.
Athlete and whatever else they are becoming.

That’s a big part of what @hyphenatedathletics exists to cultivate: space for the whole person. Space to be more than one thing. Space to recognize that the different parts of who you are don’t have to compete with one another.

They can be both/and.

That’s what made the NCAA Legacy Lab experience so meaningful. The student-athletes were given room to think, create, connect and see themselves beyond performance.

Grateful to have played a part in that environment, and excited to keep growing, learning and partnering in ways that create more opportunities like it.

This man has always been so much more than a coach, and the way his life has unfolded continues to prove that true.

A master of the pivot and transition. A God-fearing servant leader who has consistently found ways to lead in an uncommon way.

Coach Tressel often says, “I thank God every day He made me a Buckeye.”

I thank God that He chose me to be coached by Coach Tressel. The lessons stretched far beyond football and I’m still learning from his example today.

Congratulations on a well-deserved place in the Ohio State Ring of Honor, @ltgovjimtressel. Grateful to have been there to celebrate!🌰 taken in Ohio Stadium by @jamiewoodofficial

We saw plenty of determination during today’s visit to Junction City Elementary with @jamiewoodofficial and @royhalljr_! No matter where you begin, what matters is that you keep showing up, working hard, and moving forward.

This one is pretty special.

I had the opportunity to participate in NCAA Leadership Development programming during my 8 years of working in college athletics, and now I get to return as a facilitator for the 2026 NCAA Legacy Lab in Indianapolis.

I’ll be leading two sessions as part of the Brand in Motion: NIL Track.

As I’ve prepared for this, I’ve kept coming back to something that sits at the heart of how I think about NIL and athlete development:

Before worrying about how you influence everybody else, do you understand what has influenced you?

Your family. Your hometown. Your experiences. Your interests. Your challenges. Your routines. Your relationships. Your communities.

There is value in all of it.

We’re going to spend time helping student-athletes recognize the opportunities that may already exist in their everyday lives, think more intentionally about how they show up online, understand how relationships with brands are actually cultivated, and then work through what happens when an opportunity becomes real.

I’m looking forward to the laughs, the honest conversations, the questions, and hopefully a few lightbulb moments.

You don’t have to become somebody else to create opportunity. Sometimes you just need a different lens for seeing what’s already there.

Grateful for the opportunity and excited to serve 🧱

Long before we talked about personal brands, Scripture reminded us:

“A good name is more desirable than great riches.” Proverbs 22:1

I’ve always been highly aware of reputation…sometimes to a fault. Caring about how we represent ourselves can guide us, but living according to everyone else’s opinions can also limit us.

I’m learning the difference between chasing approval and stewarding a good name.

My grandfather, Michael “Papa” Robinson, has shown me what the latter looks like.

He married my grandmother when I was two years old. We may not share blood, and many people may not even know that he is my grandfather, but he has been present for nearly my entire life. Over the years, he has become much more than a grandfather to me. He has been a mentor, guide, sounding board, and source of wise counsel through several different seasons of my life.

If you know him, you know exactly what I mean.

He is respected throughout the community, but his good name extends far beyond professional success. It has been built through consistency, wisdom, generosity, faith, and how he shows up for people.

I’ve been blessed with several great men in my life, my father, stepfather, coaches, mentors, and others who came before me and helped pave the way. Their example has given me a name worth protecting, not from a place of fear, but from gratitude and responsibility.

I’m thankful we could step away from the busyness, break bread, talk shop, and discuss life, faith, family, and purpose.

Good men matter. Having them in your life matters even more. 🙏🏾

Last week in Pittsburgh was a reminder of what access can become when it is connected to relationships, learning, and intention.

I had the opportunity to accompany coaches from across Germany as they experienced American football at the NFL and college levels from Pittsburgh Steelers training camp to Pitt, Duquesne, and Robert Morris.

What stood out most was not the buildings, logos, or proximity. It was the curiosity, humility, and eagerness to learn.

Growing the game internationally is not just about bringing people into impressive spaces. It is about creating the conditions for knowledge to be shared, relationships to develop, and opportunities to move in both directions.

Grateful to everyone who helped open the doors and to play a small role in helping build the bridge.

This is just the beginning.

The streak wasn’t the point. The showing up was.

I started this 30-day challenge thinking the goal was to post every day, stay consistent, and prove something through completion.

Somewhere along the way, I realized the real purpose was simply putting myself out there again.

Not perfectly. Not polished. Put yourself out there!
