Crazy what can happen when you stop negotiating with doubt and just keep showing up.

This one means a lot.

A huge thank you to my team, my friends, and my wonderful wife

Now then.

Jamie messaged me in December after doing an IBJJF on ten days’ notice. 89.3kg to 85.5 in ten days - “some silly shit”, his words. In January he was competing at under 94kg. That was the pattern: compete heavy, scramble late, turn up flat.

He signed up to Grapple Shred to support his wife. No goals of his own.

Eight months later: 10kg down, walking around at 82-83 with nothing left to scramble for. Double gold at All Stars and an IBJJF silver during the Shred. A stomach bug that put him on a drip, then three weeks later Grappling Industries - five wins from eight, every one by submission, silver and bronze. British Open champion in May: 7-0 in the quarter, armbar in the semi, armbar in the final. Purple belt in June, and six days later the NAGA belt he’d wanted his whole life, first attempt at purple. 41 competition wins. He also has now got four sponsorship deals.

The pain point was never the weight. It was that every comp started with a crash, so he never got to find out how good he was at full strength. Lose the unwanted body fat once, properly, then eat at maintenance and stay there - and the crash goes, and so does the excuse.

He graduated from coaching in August with the toolkit and he’s still at 83. That’s the after, after.

Every number here he sent me himself. Proud of you, Jamie.

Get jacked and grapple.
