North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 solidified the opening vibe – a celebration of creativity, hospitality, community, and deliciousness. Congratulations to our region’s new No. 1, Smyth Chicago, alll of this year’s newcomers, and every honoree and special award winner. A shout out to New Orleans, our incredible host city. Everyone was so gracious with their jazz, food and joy.

We’re thrilled to have the one and only Chef José Andrés on the May Digital Cover.
This month, as guest editor, he opened his home to share stories about his childhood in Spain, some entertaining advice, and his recipe for Valencian paella.

His new book,”Spain My Way,” is a joyous trip through Spanish culture and cuisine. It’s one of my favorite books this year.
