Over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to interview some of the amazing people behind Netflix’s new A Different World series, including Maleah Joi Moon @maleahjoimoon , who plays Deborah Wayne, Dwayne and Whitley’s daughter; cast member Cornell Young IV @cytheiv ; showrunner Felicia Pride @feliciapride ; and director Debbie Allen @therealdebbieallen

We talked about carrying this legacy forward and what Hillman can mean to a new generation. As someone who attended an HBCU ( @ncatalumni )I understand how important it is to have honest, meaningful conversations about our experiences, our history, our communities and the stories that shape us.

Super excited about Season 2 & congratulations to everyone involved in creating space to reflect, connect and inspire all of us.

Caught up with Nicole Murphy on the Twinning red carpet in Los Angeles!

Had to congratulate her on her work as executive producer of the thriller, directed by Craig Thomas and starring Armani Greer.

We see the faces on screen, but bringing a film to life takes work behind the scenes, too. Loved having Nicole on the mic and celebrating this moment with her!

From finding the woman behind the mystery, knowing what to reveal, and trusting her instincts. We also got into what playing this role made her think differently about trusting her instincts?

On the carpet with the legendary Loretta Devine @lodivadevine for “Forever, This Ring.” Hollywood CA premiere.

We talked about the legendary work she has had throughout her career and her recurring role of Stevie Rallen, a graduate student and the Gilbert Hall in A Different World in 1987.

She can make you feel at home with one line, but in this thriller, should we get comfortable? 💍 Out October 2.

Tonight on the carpet in Hollywood CA, with
Erica Mena @ericamena for “Forever, This Ring.”

We talked about wanting to be loved without being fully known, and what this role pulled out of her. A ring says “I do,” but does it mean “I know you”? 💍

Erica plays the new wife of wealthy entrepreneur Maveric Collins, played by Taye Diggs. Their picture-perfect marriage takes a dark turn when he realizes she isn’t who he thought she was.

Directed by Chris Stokes, the film also stars Loretta Devine, Marques Houston, La’Myia Good and Malik Whitfield. Out October 2. 🎬

Tonight with Marques Houston @marqueshouston at the “Forever, This Ring” Hollywood premiere.

We got into what this character pulled out of him and how he and Chris Stokes keep challenging each other after years of working together. Music taught him about timing, but in a thriller, that pause might have you questioning everybody.

Directed by Chris Stokes and starring Taye Diggs, Erica Mena, Loretta Devine, Marques Houston, La’Myia Good and Malik Whitfield. Out October 2. 💍
