Times are tough for a lot of people right now.

My sellers live pretty far away and didn’t have the time or extra money to hire someone to get their yard cleaned up.

They never asked me to do anything about it, but I knew a little extra curb appeal could make a difference when selling their home.

So yesterday I loaded up the Ryobi equipment - don’t come for me, we have a VERY small yard in Germantown 😂 - and spent the afternoon mowing, weed eating, spraying, trimming shrubs, and freshening up the landscaping.

Nobody asked me to do it. I just saw an opportunity to help, and I think sometimes that’s what serving people is all about.

Yes, our job as real estate agents is to help people buy and sell homes.

But at the end of the day, this business is really about taking care of people.

It’s looking for opportunities to serve when you’re able to.

It’s leading with a servant’s heart, even when nobody expects you to.

So if you made it this far, here’s my challenge to you:
Go make someone’s day a little better.
Help somebody who could use an extra hand. Make someone smile. Send the text. Make the phone call. Do the thing that might seem small to you but could mean the world to someone else.
You never know what someone is going through.

Eight years away from church. Drifting more than settling. Searching for something that felt honest.

I was hesitant to step into Brentwood Baptist. Too big. Too polished. Easy to assume the warmth gets lost in the size.

But the moment Murphy and I walked in, we were met with genuine care. Not forced. Not rehearsed. Just people who truly saw us. Seeing @mharris2911 greeting people at the front door, driving over six hours round trip at the time, just to be there, spoke volumes.

Then my Mom gently convinced me to join the choir. And apparently it’s led by @travcott .

That first practice carried something sacred. The presence of the Lord felt. Love practiced, not proclaimed. Voices and hearts poured out in praise and prayer.

Wednesdays have become a place to breathe. A reminder to slow down, listen, and recalibrate when life feels loud and rushed.

Murphy and I are deeply grateful for Travis and @angcottrell , for our small group, for choir, and for the way this church nurtures real community. @brentwoodbaptist is truly blessed to have both of them.
