I’M BUILT FOR THIS! by @jamitherenegade

God gave me the gift of words and I’m done playing small with it. If He can use my voice to make somebody think deeper, process some shit, tell themselves the truth, be vulnerable, grow, heal, or learn how to really love themselves…I’m standing ten toes down in that assignment. Use me God. Gladiator School Vol. 7 dropping soon. 📷@ldnlens.co by @jamitherenegade

I was SO scared doing this. Not because I don’t believe in myself, but because I love music so much and sometimes I feel like I have so much to prove. To MYSELF!!

Music has always been bigger than just making songs for me. It’s where I put my heart, my mind, my experiences, my contradictions, my pain, my confidence… all of it. So every time I get the opportunity to really step into this part of myself, it means something to me.

I’m learning that I don’t have to wait until I feel completely fearless or completely ready to show up. Sometimes you gotta let your heart beat out your chest and do that shit anyway. 😂

I’m just grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to showcase my heart and my mind. Grateful to be challenged. Grateful that after everything life has given me, I still love creating this much.

And that’s what I’m really proving to myself. that I can stop being scared of how much I want it and just GO.

Anyway…

Posting a sneak peek of one of my verses from Gladiator School. 🥹

Taking care of me like I never have before and loving who I’m becoming. #selflove❤️ #healingoutloud by @jamitherenegade

Today makes 17 years since I lost you.

I don’t want to grieve and mourn in pain anymore.

I know I will always have hard days behind losing you but I now believe in grieving and mourning in peace. So I’m choosing to celebrate the love not mourn the loss.

We shared a lot of happy moments and some dark moments as well. What I remember most are the quiet moments when we would wrap our arms and legs around each other, my head tucked under your chin and just exist. The streets had us both in a chokehold but in these moments we were both able to breath a little smoother. We were able to momentarily forget all the noise. I used to trace your face with my fingers, I’d start with your eyebrows then your nose, then the frame of your face and your lips, then I would kiss you very softly and tell you I love you. You would always reply with a kiss to my forehead and an “I love you too”

You taught me how to be a woman to a man and how to lead with love and patience. You are one of the reasons why I am able to keep going and keep shining even when it’s pitch black! I will forever carry you in my heart and in my mind. You have always been and will always be the love of my life. I honor you today Vinnie. I’ll honor you for the rest of my life!

Rest in my forever love! 🫶 🕊️♾️ by @jamitherenegade

I was created by a legend foundational in the Minneapolis music scene. He gave me the gift of music and I’m so grateful god chose me to be his daughter. by @jamitherenegade
