And just like that our family of 2 has expanded to THREE!!! I can’t believe we’re having a BABY and that someone is going to call us Mom + Dad! 🥺It’s still so surreal, but I’m SO thankful that God has called us to this next chapter of life. We’ve been so blessed over this past year, but this takes the icing on the cake! ❤️

I don’t really post on social media, let along paragraphs like this but this weekend was one for the books for me. Last September when my son was born I had to have an emergency C-Section. I got to see him for about 30 seconds before he was taken to a transitional nursery for observation. We were told they’d bring him back a few hours later, but unfortunately Blaise was admitted into the NICU. I was HEARTBROKEN. I’d been praying my entire pregnancy that I would 1. Not have a C-section and 2. That Blaise wouldn’t have to go the NICU. Funny how God works and how our plans are not His plans because BOTH of those things happened. I remember being so sad that Blaise was in the NICU alone without me or Donovan and that I had no control over what was happening.

Before being induced, I prayed that God would give me amazing nurses that would help me during my birth and he did just that. Blaise had a nurse in the NICU who went above and beyond to take care of him. She treated him like he was her own and she made Donovan and I feel so loved and cared for. I knew that Blaise was in good hands with her. She kept us up to date with everything that was happening and advocated for us fiercely. I believe that if it wasn’t for her, Blaise would still be in the NICU today. Lol. She was the first nurse we met in the NICU and was the last one to see us go home.

Happy Fathers Day Babe. It’s still surreal to me that we’re parents. We’ve been talking about our future family since the 9th grade and I’m so thankful God had it in his will for us to start a family together. You’re the best dad to Blaise and I’m confident in the man he will grow up to be all because he has you. You’re not only a good role model to Blaise, but to so many other young men. You’re God fearing and lead our family with integrity, gentleness, self control, affection, and most importantly — love. Blaise and I love you so much and we are so glad that you’re ours.
