“𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊 𝒂𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖.”

leave it to @rebeccayarros to send the entire fandom into absolute CHAOS with one incredible novella. i’m fighting so hard not to drop my current tbr and do a full empyrean reread/relisten 🙈!!

i absolutely LOVED this novella, but what i wasn’t prepared for was how emotional it would make me!! the bond between dragon and rider is truly something else, and the way each dragon knew their rider’s deepest fears and heart made the selection process all the more meaningful. it makes me so sad that dragons aren’t real.

aside from my faves being shadow xaddy and queen sgaeyl, sloane and thoirt’s pov absolutely had my heart. oh, and that back to back liam and sloane povs?! i was NOT okay 😭💔

whose pov was your favourite??

p.s. how is everyone feeling with the potential casting announcement?! 😆

do i have other books that i’m currently reading? yes, yes i do.

did i randomly decide to start the poison daughter knowing i have other books on the go? yes, yes i did.

has it completely taken over my tbr, and is it @vanessa.epub’s fault? 100% yes, and i’m not even mad about it LOL 🤣

my reading has been all over the place these last few weeks, and apparently, sticking to one book at a time is no longer an option. so here’s what i’ve got on the go:

last read
~ breaking point — 4.5⭐️!!

currently reading
~ vasmora — 10%
~ golden son — 58%
~ a ballad for the broken — 56%
~ the poison daughter — 40%

at this point, i’m just letting the reading mood swings win because clearly, i have zero self-control when it comes to starting new books 😂

anyone else feel like their brain has been a little scattered lately, or is it just me? LOL taken in BOOKSTA by @jamrreads

i blinked, september was over… and somehow we’re already in spooky season 🍂👻

here’s my september reading recap + all the books i’m hoping to get lost in this october!

———-

kobo case: @imcasefl (use code JAM20 for 20% off 🥰)

so many amazing new releases this month 🥰.

my most anticipated was obviously threshing day… and in true @rebeccayarros fashion, she did NOT disappoint!! but did she leave me desperately wanting more? absolutely 😭!! i am fighting so hard not to drop my current tbr and do a full reread/relisten of the empyrean 🙈.

it was also a very ARC/ALC-saturated month! my favourite was hands down the alc for wings of ash and flame by @jocelynbleu !!! 👏🏻. you want fourth wing x zodiac academy vibes? add this to your tbr. the tension? the banter? the found family? CHEF’S KISS 💋! i ate this one up.

have you read any of these yet?! 👀 which one was your favourite, or which one is still sitting on your tbr? 🤭

making some good progress on my october hopefuls!

@vanessa.epub and i started our web of silence buddy read and well… we’re feeling a little conflicted 😅.

what’s on your october tbr?? taken in BOOKSTA by @jamrreads

if you need me, i’ll be at fever dream with deacon 😏

so happy to be heading back to harker academy!cursed city comes out on tuesday, but @indigo blessed my doorstep with an early preorder delivery yesterday, so you can bet i’ll be burying my nose in this book all weekend 🤭

buddy reading this one with @vanessa.epub, and we’re already cackling over every single thing that comes out of deacon graveheart’s mouth 🤣. this man has absolutely NO filter, and we are eating it UP!

it’s restitution re-release day! 💚

“𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐢 𝐬𝐚𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬.
𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬.”

the third and final book in one of my favourite dark romance trilogies has officially been re-released today! 🥹💚 this gorgeous new @zandoprojects edition is now available everywhere except the uk/cw (excluding canada)!

have you read the edge of darkness series yet? and if you have, who’s your favourite character? 👀

for me? obviously kade and stacey 🖤… but i also LOVED tobias, barry, and base. the three of them together were pure chaos, and i ate it up every single time 🤣🥹

a little unsolicited 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕, 𝒏𝒐𝒘, 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 because i’ve been having SUCH a good time with my reads lately 🙈🥰

𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕
wings of ash and flame | alc - 09/22
OBSESSED!! i absolutely ate this story up and will now be waiting very impatiently for the next book, @jocelynbleu 😭👏🏻 @laura_horowitz_narrator and @jamescassidyromance did such a fantastic job bringing these characters to life on audio!

𝒏𝒐𝒘
the sweetest fiend | earc - 09/22
it took me a second to get into this one, but omg once i got past the 15% mark, i was “LATCHED” (iykyk 😏). i’ve literally been cackling through this read. the banter is BANTERING with these two and i am thoroughly entertained 🤣.

anathema | 🎧📖
also currently listening to anathema because apparently i needed more @jamescassidyromance in my life and honestly, this is the PERFECT fall/spooky season read 🦂🖤.

𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕
kiss of the black flame | earc - 09/22
so excited to get back into helen’s writing!! i loved the legends of thezmarr series and i’ve heard some really great things about this one, so i am readyyyy!!🔥

have you read any of these yet?!

happy release day, sorrow & strangers ✨🖤

4.5⭐️

“𝐢 𝐚𝐦 𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐢 𝐚𝐦 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮.”

i was NOT prepared for this book to emotionally destroy me right from the start 😭. the first quarter absolutely shattered my heart, and i felt like i was carrying summer’s heartbreak and grief right alongside her.

alice somehow became even more of a QUEEN 👏🏻. she’s THAT friend—the ride or die who shows up through all the mess and heartbreak. i already know i’m going to be rooting so hard for her in book three.

and rafe?! my sweet, sweet rafe 🥹. his character growth was everything, and learning more about his backstory broke my heart a little. his bond with summer was one of my favourite parts of this book, and i’m VERY intrigued by where his story is going next 🤭.

then there’s the stranger… this man and his MOUTH 😮‍💨. i was living for his interactions with summer and loved getting so much more of his pov in this book. his inner mind is unhinged in the best way 🫦.

and THAT ENDING?! 👀 i’m equal parts excited and terrified for book three because the stakes just keep getting higher. despite how messy summer can be, i am so pumped for her journey and growth throughout this series!

if you loved blood & betrayals, sorrow & strangers is out NOW! ✨

thank you to @r0seandstar @netgalley for sending me the eARC, as well as @simonmaverickbooks for sending me the alc for review.

have you started the avalon university series yet? 👀 taken in BOOKSTA by @jamrreads
