I went back downtown to see more Indy Shorts for day 3 of the festival. The after party at Pins Mechanical was really fun, and I got to chat with several filmmakers after viewing 14 shorts. Three days remain if you want to check it out! @pins.indy @livingroomtheatersindy @heartlandfilm #indyshorts2026 by @jan_cooney

This schedule is impossible. Looks like my concert counts for Hanson and OK Go will forever be measured with half-stops at the end. by @jan_cooney

This will be a relaxing way to spend my last week before school starts. The fest kicked off Tuesday, and I saw 12 short films under the categories of “Music” and “Breaking Through.” We even got a Q&A with filmmakers of “Free Joan Little” and “Magan’s Fare.” It’s a perfect night for the Clowes Green tonight too (for Indiana Spotlight 2). Come check it out! (Or buy a streaming ticket if you can’t come in person!). by @jan_cooney

I had a great time meeting Heather and Jim at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park to see Jake Thistle kick off his summer tour! He played all my faves and I even got a set list. I noticed he had the guitar given to him by Mike Campbell so I got a close up of that. He is such a great young man, and I look forward to lots more Jake shows in the future. Also, idk how the “AI info” got added to this post. I didn’t do it on purpose, but the show was sold out, as stated. @jakethistlemusic @hmsjms by @jan_cooney

Portsmouth, NH was a heck of a long haul, but I had never driven in New England, and since I flanked the two OK Go shows with Bob Dylan and Jake Thistle, it was a fabulous 1800-mile round trip. I picked up Jen and Kalinda in Boston, and we met up with Heather and Jim. We loved having front row reserved seats at The Music Hall because we finally got to eat actual food before the show instead of sitting on the sidewalk before doors and eating plane snacks. We found a photo booth and did some shopping too. At the Music Hall we checked out the “award winning bathroom” prior to the show and enjoyed a little sax from opener Michael Wilbur. @okgo @kalindaching @ca_stars @hmsjms by @jan_cooney

Festivals are a drag, but not when OK Go, Old 97s, and The Fixx are all on the same stage. We celebrated our 2-year OK Go friend-versary in Pleasantville, and it was quite pleasant! Jim and Heather met us there too, so it was a double anniversary of our first meeting them in Brooklyn. The setlist was shorter than usual, but it was a lot of fun being up front for these three bands. Bonus was seeing Dan after he set up his drum kit and seeing Damian’s family interact with him during the show. @okgo @ca_stars @hmsjms @kalindaching by @jan_cooney

I spent my Wednesday night seeing Mike Campbell and Steve Ferrone (of The Heartbreakers—RIP Tom) with their band Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs. It was on my list to see him again after I ran into him in the Vancouver airport and he graciously chatted for a few minutes. I bought 4 LPs and was happy to hear some TP songs along with my fave MC song “F—- that Guy.” BONUS: Woody Guthrie’s granddaughter, Sarah Lee Guthrie, opened! @mikecampbellofficial @steve_ferrone by @jan_cooney

Bob show 54! I always see someone I know, and I was so happy to see Kait dancing in the front row at the show in Pittsburgh! Thanks for the new button and the photo, Kait! I was in row B and a little left of center, and I sat between a couple seeing Bob for the first time and a man who had seen him well over 200 times. Bob was in top form, enunciating lyrics clearly and seeming to enjoy every minute. Joel Paterson was fabulous as well (I have seen him play a teeny, 400-capacity venue in my neighborhood), and he adds another dimension to the songs with his guitar. He can improv anything and must be honored to play with Bob. The set was reminiscent of R&R, opening with To Be Alone With You, and it was great to hear Multitudes, False Prophet, and Jimmy Reed again. I was thrilled to also hear Trying to get to Heaven, It ain’t Me Babe, and Red Sky. I love Every Grain of Sand as a closer, but I Shall be Released (with an excellent harp closing) was a nice substitution and also very moving. I tried the Iron City Light Mango beer, on tap at the indoor bar by the restrooms, and I ran into Tony Garnier strolling around (I’ve seen him 3 times in the past couple of years). I couldn’t resist shaking his hand again, and he asked me my name as I stopped to say hello. I also grabbed a shirt with the tour dates to commemorate my 40th anniversary of seeing Bob play live. Long Live Bob! @bobdylan @tmangarnier by @jan_cooney

Tim and Jane let us crash their vacay, and the doggies got to try out the boat. Scout, of course, enjoyed scouting birds. Bentley was down for whatever. The dogs were zonked out on the ride home. by @jan_cooney

I’m very fortunate to still have my Dad. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads. Listen to Tommy Prine’s song “By the Way” and then call your dad. Another good one is “Ships in the Harbor” which will also make you call your dad. by @jan_cooney
