I grew up in a single parent home where survival was the only goal. We were always just trying to make it to the next day— never ahead, never secure and certainly never educated on money.
Like many, I was taught the “safe” formula for success: go to college. Get a good job, work hard, and you’ll be set for retirement. But life taught me that this promise was far from reality.
I spent 30 years working in the Healthcare industry—dedicated, loyal, trusting the system. I did everything “ right “. I had a 401(k), company stock, and a long work history. But when I left the company. I made a few decisions— ones I didn’t fully understand at the time. I cashed out my 401(k) and my stock. In a blink of an eye, the security I thought I had built for decades was gone.
It felt like it was starting all over again.
Then a former coworker reached out to me on FB— just checking in. He asked how I was doing, what I was doing for work, and if I was open to hearing about an opportunity that could change my financial future. At first, U was hesitant, but something told me to listen.
I became a client in a debt management program— just trying to get the monkey off my back. That same coworker helped my husband move 3 of his 401(k)’s into a tax advantage annuity. For the first time, I saw a path forward— not just out of debt, but toward real stability.
That’s when something clicked. I realized this just isn’t about me anymore. I didn’t want another single mom or retiree to struggle the way I had. I decided to take a chance— not just on a new career, but on a mission. I joined WFG.
Now I wake up everyday with a purpose. I help people understand the things that I was never taught about how money works, how to build real wealth, and I do it because I what it feels like to have none of that.
This isn’t just a career change. It’s a calling. Because NO one should have to spend 30 o. Working hard only to retire with nothing. DM if interested in leaving no family behind as our mission states by @jancartin
