- Framed and Exhibited (again) 🤩
Really chuffed to have two artworks featuring me framed and exhibited and that now hang in the artist's home.

These two wonderful pieces of art of my poses were created by Jan, framed, and exhibited at a show at Courtyard Arts ( @courtyard_herts ) earlier this year. They were produced during Amanda Towers' ( @amandatowers_ ) popular and expertly tutored life drawing sessions at Courtyard Arts.

The second slide shows the larger piece hanging in Jan's home. This large work used orange acrylic (house) paint as a background on wallpaper with XL charcoal used to outline the figure, a technique that Jan often uses to great effect.

The forth slide shows the smaller framed piece amongst Jan's other art. This is another mixed media artwork, in this case XL charcoal, Indian ink and acrylic on a brown wrapping paper base.

The exhibition showcased work done by artists attending classes at Courtyard Arts and, as can be seen in the sixth slide, was well attended by local (and some not so local) artists and members of the public. It included several life drawings created by people attending Amanda's life drawing classes.

Jan has also printed a limited run of 127mm x 178mm greeting cards featuring the large image, as well as two further drawings of me (shown in slide seven) and a number of her other artworks. All of these are available from Jan. See Jan's post on the 11th September for full details.

Finally, the eighth slide shows a further set of 105mm x 150mm cards Jan produced that feature another of my poses. To see the full set; see our joint post on the 5th of August.

My thanks to Jan for her help in putting this post together.

BTW: Even I can't believe it; I first modelled at Courtyard Arts on the 25th March 2004!

One of my husbands carers Joshua. Done in 4H pencil so took a final image of that then decided it needed colour so added alcohol pens. I like how the colours splurge over the tracing paper. This portrait is for our weekly FB group Artists Following-Portraits by @jancun24

Had a lovely day out courtesy of a friend to go and see Henry Moore’s underground sketches. They were presented perfectly and it was fascinating to view them up close and personal. Dave slept through it all as it was so quiet and a nice ambient temperature. My daughter joined us as we went around the grounds. Cup of coffee and cake after rounded it all off before getting back for the carers.

As always @europeanartforbreakfast is totally inspiring with her poses. The colourful ones are wallpaper with a splashed acrylic background. No4 I’m not very happy with, I went a bit overboard. 1-4 are all 20min poses. 5 is a 5min pose and the last are 2minute poses. This was done at lifedrawing class with @amandatowers_ @courtyard_herts

Mel, on tracing paper, in neocolor l, crayons and a touch of soft white oil pastel. Just trying out anything that comes to hand. A what if moment! I actually like stage two the best!
