Fun fact: my relationship with my parents, particularly my dad was terrible in my early twenties. I knew very early on that I was going to be in business and therefore, my path would be different. For an immigrant parent, this was difficult to accept. Unless I went to uni and pursued a stable career, nothing I did was good enough. There was a point that the negative talk and arguing at home got so bad that I knew I had to move out in order for me to do what I needed to do. It took me years to rebuild my self-beliefs and my self-confidence after being told my whole life “no you can’t do that” and “stop being so ambitious”. Along the way I also learnt that other people’s expectations and opinions of me aren’t my responsibility, and this was truly when I pursued my business at full speed. Two years ago, I sat my parents down and for the first time told them about my purpose and how I was using my business as the vessel to live it out. Being vulnerable was terrifying, but this time, I had the progress to show for it. It was the first time they were genuinely curious instead of skeptical and negative. Today my mum said “I feel so proud of you” as she walked through the studio, and although I brushed it off in that moment, I’m lowkey crying writing this caption not because I wanted their validation this whole time.. but because I am also so proud of that 20 year old Jane who knew nothing about business but took all the risks despite all the fear and uncertainties. taken in Haus of Blanc by @janeauxilio

Every decision I made behind the @hausofblanc open haus event was intentional. As the founder and Creative Director, I wanted the event to showcase exactly how the studio is designed to be used through fun and interactive activations. Let me talk you through it. Studio: @hausofblanc Event styling: @hausofblanc Photography: @blancstudio.au Dry bar: @the.hairnetwork Live illustrations: @candyngart Bar & host: @maisondudetail_ Stationery design: @highlanecreative Stationery print: @smadadesignandprint Branded mugs: @hum.concept Makeup station: @shopkimkobeauty Florals: @melbourneeventflorals Gladsware hire: @misseventsmelbourne Content: @capturedby.alamaras | @considerthis.studio Floor decal: @hmdecal The event was designed for guests to move freely through the space, so the food needed to be functional without sacrificing impact. I opted for a grazing-style setup using mirrors to create a checkered effect, paired with chrome trinkets to display the food. I wanted people to look at the table and think, “Damn... that’s cool.” Drinks were obviously on us. 🥂 @smadadesignandprint absolutely nailed these branded acrylic coasters. They were such a great photo and talking point throughout the day, and the best part? Guests got to take them home as a little keepsake. @maisondudetail_ and I collaborated to create a signature cocktail menu that felt unmistakably Haus of Blanc. Introducing... 🥂 Haus Mimosa 🥃 The Blanc-hattan 🖤 Noir Old Fashioned Safe to say... there wasn’t a bottle of liquor left unopened by the end of the day. Every corner of the studio became a brand activation. I wanted our partners to genuinely shine and use the day to introduce their businesses to new people. So Olivia from @highlanecreative designed these beautiful station cards, each with a QR code linking directly to the vendor’s socials. From fit check to artwork. @candyngart spent the day live illustrating our guests’ outfits. Each finished piece was displayed on our steel backdrop throughout the event before guests took their artwork home at the end of the day. Again, another thing our guests couldn’t stop talking about and take photos of. Novelty was an important el taken in Haus of Blanc by @janeauxilio
