As many of you know, we’ve been providing hospice care for John’s Mum, Carolyn, since July. Carolyn peacefully passed just after midnight this morning. She was so very tired but even at the end she blamed how she was feeling on eating too many Werther’s Caramels. ♥️ Despite all the meetings with her and the nurses about caring for her and making her comfortable for the end of her life she was, thankfully, oblivious to what was happening to her. We were well schooled by her excellent hospice nurse, Nick, in administering medications and the result was a blissful end. No anxiety whatsoever. A blessing. Many of my friends know that Carolyn and I have not had the best relationship. Just this week, after 31 years of marriage, she told John I was a good person. I’m grateful that all these months I’ve been looking after her she finally realised I’m not the ogre she thought I was. The hospice nurse, just the other day said, I’m glad to see she’s finally taken To you! 🤣 He had seen her not being nice to me so he knew..I really mean it that it means a lot that she went without that awful animosity. She was very sweet for about the last 10 days and thanked me often for her care and I’m so glad things ended this way for John. Carolyn was also so thrilled to have met beautiful Emma with Jack the other weekend when we got to meet Emma for the first time too. ♥️ Jack and Emma are currently on a week’s trip to Gig Harbor, Washington where we used to live. Carolyn loved it that they were going there together. Carolyn is now in her heavenly coffee shop enjoying caramels to abandon. Rest in peace Carolyn. ~ Jane by @janecfrazier

🌸Happy birthday to my ever beautiful Mum, Diane! She has immense energy, a beautiful soul, incredible at baking and cooking and is also known as Diddy Diane! If you can get a photo of her with her eyes open it’s rare. 😁 We love you so much Mum, aka Grandma, aka Diddy Diane!!
