I didn’t forget @mrturners 33rd Birthday yesterday ( well I actually almost did) but I wanted to wish you a proper Happy Birthday! It’s been a busy year and we haven’t had a lot of spare time to spend together as a family. So I’m looking forward to catching up with you for dinner tonight and chatting about books and art and The Traitors. Love you to the moon and back JWT. by @janeellenturner

We were on @thetodayshow this morning to share our excitement for the Australian Booksellers Association’s @loveyourbookshopau day 2026, which is taking place on Saturday, 10th of October! In honour of this years theme—ask a bookseller, shake up your shelves—we decided to share some book recommendations to @sam_armytage and @tomsteinfort live on air. Long live your local bookstores! ❤️ taken in The Today Show by @janeellenturner

🎀 Today marks 2 years since I had a double mastectomy from breast cancer.
The recovery has had its challenges at times but having made this decision, I now live cancer free.
I just wanted to remind everyone to keep up to date with their mammograms and cancer checks. If I had prioritized these checks, I would not have had to have this surgery. But I didn’t do that and saw other things as more important. Believe me, they’re not.
So this serves as a reminder to please get checked. When the reminder comes in the mail - just book in and do it. When they call you on the phone, turn up and get it done. Give yourself a chance of recovery.

*All I remember about that day is the horse print on the drain bags that volunteer charities make for people who need them. I needed two. I wore those bags for weeks and they now hold all the wonderful cards and messages I received while recovering. The things you remember…. by @janeellenturner

Today my beautiful Mum turned 90. I just can’t believe it. She still looks as beautiful as ever and even though she is a little frail, her mind is sharp as a tack. It was wonderful to have friends and family at High Tea today. Here’s to the next decade @noeleneellenturner taken in Vaucluse House, Tea Rooms, Vaucluse by @janeellenturner

We lost my beloved cat Lenny in a dog attack yesterday. His injuries were extensive and many and we chose to not put him through the many surgeries and fight to recover. The odds were not stacked in his favour yesterday. You may have seen him charging through the bookstore at lightening speed or miaowing loudly for food and attention. He would have been 4 next week. He was my companion and I will miss him greatly. He was loved by all the staff at @gertrudeandalice who helped me raise him. So if we are crying into your coffee today or are spirits seem low we hope you will forgive us all this time of missing him. Huge thanks to the Vets at @bondivethospital and @sash_vets who supported us as a family through the process. taken in Gertrude & Alice Cafe Bookstore by @janeellenturner

Leonard ( whose name was chosen from the book Leonard and the Hungry Paul) is often seen perusing the shelves at @gertrudeandalice hunting for books on cat cuisine as well as how to outsmart his nemesis @augiebassetboy.
