I’m launching my campaign for California Insurance Commissioner, the most important job you may not have heard of.

The $3 trillion insurance industry has, for too long, put profits over people. It’s time to hold them accountable and stand up to corporate greed. I have three major policy plans to make insurance affordable and accessible for working people: Natural Disaster Insurance for All, caps on insurance profits and CEO pay, and guaranteed healthcare for kids.

And I won’t take a dime from insurance companies. We need an Insurance Commissioner office to work for the people of California.

Insurance should protect people. Corporate greed has turned it into a wealth machine for the few.

At tonight’s Bernie rally, Jane Kim laid out a vision to take it back: nonprofit disaster insurance, Medicare for Kids, and an insurance industry that puts our families first.

In the richest country in the world, no child should go without coverage. No family should have to fight for the protection they paid for.
