Real talk: I know that a lot of people would not bring their daughter to a heels class like this. I know there are many reasons why. For me, though, it was incredibly important for Elora to experience a room full of confident, courageous women from all walks of life. It’s not as common as it should be, and so I want to make sure she takes advantage of those situations no matter her age. Plus, many of the women in that class are there because they felt repressed in their childhood. They felt they were told to cover up or hide a part of themselves. And now they are working very hard to break down walls and open up again. This is something I don’t want Elora to ever have to do. I want her to know that her body and her energy and her passion and her movement are hers alone. Always. She’s taking wonderfully fulfilling lessons from these interactions and I’m so grateful to have a community that embraces my lesson-plans😆🙏🏽👌 Thank you Kayla 🥹 by @janelowry24

Elora and I learned about a time in history, called the depression era, where goods were hard to come by. But fancy restaurants still needed to have delicious desserts on their menu that their costumers could count on. So a famous Chef from San Francisco created a ‘wacky’ cake with no eggs or milk

Ingredients
• 1½ cups (187 g) all-purpose flour
•1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
• ¼ cup (29.5 g) unsweetened cocoa
powder
• ½ teaspoon kosher salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1 teaspoon white vinegar
•½ cup vegetable oil
• 1 cup (237 g) water

We used 2 tablespoons of milk in the frosting, but other than that this was a delicious plant-based recipe! *I’m gonna be making this every month, if you know what I mean😉 AND, special things to missladydianalee for the “dassisting”😂💕

Everything is a lesson #momlife

Elora just turned four years old and she can read and write and is excellent at geography and anatomy. She’s working on loving subtraction as much as addition 🤨. Her knowledge of country flags is probably better than yours 💯 This girl loves to learn! But we only work on traditional school a few hours a day. The rest of her learning is done through living. Like this. We got into the way governments work (and don’t) and the way legal status can cause people to be unhoused. These subjects are not too grown for her if they’re introduced in a way she can understand and talk about. And we will continue to talk about this for many days moving forward. #shantilowry #village #challenge #lesson by @janelowry24
