It has been a while since I did a layered page! I love doing them about my travels. The landscape is from a photo I took on Going to the Sun road. By the way, I will be teaching a class on making my layered pages on Nov 14th! It was going to be in Oct, but life got in the way. Stay tuned for more details! #artjournal #sketchbook #creativejournal #watercolorsketch #watercolorlandscape by @janemaday

We saw so much wildlife on our Glacier NP trip. I didn’t have enough room on the page to capture it all! I have a question for you: I am going to be writing a book about painting in watercolor. What theme would you prefer? Garden, Forest, Birds, or Ocean? Thanks! #naturejournal #travelsketchbook #artjournal #traveljournal #creativejournal by @janemaday

Glacier National Park is one of the most spectacular places I have ever been. My photos didn’t do it justice, but maybe I can express it in paint. For me, painting my life is such an important aspect of treasuring every day. My drawings aren’t perfect, but they express my heart more than I could do with a camera. #traveljournal #travelsketch #naturejournal #sketchbook #artjournal by @janemaday

We spent last week at Glacier National Park. Here is a quick journal page made while traveling. It is interesting for me to see how my journals have changed over the years. When I started, by drawings were just whimsical doodles, colored with markers. I still use markers, but now I mostly use watercolors, and do more realistic images. #sketchbook #travelsketch #artjournal #watercolorandink #creativejournal by @janemaday

The kind folks at Grabie are celebrating their fifth birthday, and they sent me a gift! ( and it arrived on my own birthday)! Look at all the lovely things inside, I can’t wait to try them. I need to do a separate video of the pink box, it is full of stickers and an adorable little journal. I haven’t used the products yet, but I will post when I do. #grabie #artsupplies #artjournal #artsandcrafts #creativity by @janemaday

Just a little sketch where I wanted to practice painting a dramatic sky. #watercolorandink #landscapesketch #sketchbook #artpractice #artjournal by @janemaday

The other day we went to Boulder and I wanted to go to the waterfall. I had forgotten that the access is blocked off because of a rockslide! So I had to paint this from a photo. I got rather involved in painting all those rocks, lol. #landscapesketch #travelsketch #watercolorandink #sketchbook #artjournal by @janemaday

I took my walk this morning and the air was so fresh and cool. What is it about the Autumn that makes you want to snuggle up and reminisce? #artjournal #sketchbook #illustratedjournal #dailyart #creativejournal by @janemaday

The challenge of this one was to paint the sunset sky. I’m rather proud of how that turned out. I am not sure if I should add more contrast on the shadow side of the building though. What do you think? I am worried another layer will just make it look flat and dead. #watercolorandink #travelsketch #landscapesketch #sketchbook #artjournal by @janemaday
