Janet Black is a fashion/ beauty brand with the purpose of “instilling confidence in people and helping people navigate their path through building the same”, which is distilled into a short catching phrase “perfect fit”. What does perfection look like, likewise beauty? This underlying question has its roots in the aesthetic art era, where beauty is seen as both Intrinsic and Extrinsic. Merging these two ideas to create a symbol to depict something meaningful and authentic. One of the equitable assets the brand has is the diamond from its past. The flower (a strong nudge to beauty) and the diamond turned into a shining northern star which by extension stans for the anther and the stigma were combined to create the symbol. The visual language is to make a reference to the sky where the diamond shines.
