Karin
I say goodbye to a wonderful lady. She was my mother-in-law and married to Jan’s father Birger. A wonder couple and a great love story. Gave me support when I moved to Sweden for 11 months which became 5 years. Never had any biological children but was a great teacher to many and held all the grandchildren in her embrace as babies, teenagers and adults. She was a gentle human and her laugh, which she did often was so unobtrusive it wouldn’t have filled a dolls house. She has been in my thoughts every Monday night as I prep myself for my classes the following day. Everything is in its place and as I fill the kettle ready for my green tea, I see her doing the same thing in her apartment she and Birger shared in Falun. Every evening before they retired, he would turn to her, and with an affectionate pat on her shoulder, he would say “Ja Karin, Thankyou for another wonderful day!” R.I.P. Today we said goodbye to a beloved family member. Ollie has been with us for 16 years and would have reached 19 in December. She succumbed to a rapidly growing tumour in her salivary gland and the kindest thing for us to do was to help her on her way. It is always devastating to make this call, but we sat outside in the garden where she spent many days chasing mice in the early days and just chillin in her twilight years. Her body was sound and had it not been for this aggressive cancer, I think she might’ve made 20. Sad day today, but I hope her spirit still visits occasionally and retraces her footsteps from years passed. RIP Ollie puss. You were a character for sure. ❤️💛💚🙌🙏🏻 by @janetzia

Even little Eric gave generously from his pocket money to contribute to the terrific fundraising effort organised by my skater family today. Well done guys, I believe over $15,000 was raised. Great initiative and thanks to all those who donated goods, time and energy. @morgan_campbell by @janetzia

A visit to pay respects to my wonderful father-in-law Mr Tommy Meehan. Passed away 12 months today. Think about you often and our many fond memories of times shared. You were a true ‘gentle’man in many ways. Your legacy lives on. RIP by @janetzia
