POSTS STORIES REELS

In preparation for the production of my film featuring Madame Royale - a murder mystery during her time in exile at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh - we have made a short factual film about her life.

An all star cast will feature in the movie.

This short film is thanks to Matt Jones. Also, thank you to Georgina Richardson. More soon.

On location at Dundas Castle, thank you, Louise and the team. by @janeyjoneswriter

Hi friends new and forever - some moments from my sweet little life

I've been watching Irvine Welsh talking about the absence of culture. I like him. He's very humble.

And the New Statesman podcast was talking about the death of literature in favour of short form video and screen in general.

I'm a thinker but not very clever and will mull this over. Reading is in decline and that is a fact. Are my patience and concentration shrinking? Yes for leisure. No for work.

I love stories and films are another way to tell them. Tiktoks are another way to tell them. Poems, songs, plays. I love them all as forms. by @janeyjoneswriter

Hello, are you experiencing storms? It's scary. The clock change has made nightfall so early. I'm not good at night time driving at the best of times.

How would a full hibernation work?

I tracked a loved one nervously on a flight today - pilots are amazing. Pilots, mechanics, plumbers, boiler fixers, fencers. You do boss it. Thank you.

I've developed an allergy to most makeup at the moment, even the gentle ones. Therefore I am wearing brighter colours to compensate and I think it's been a good thing. I bought lots of colourful vintage frocks.

The world seems so corrupt, depraved, violent and dangerous. We are all more fascinated by bad than good so it's reported more. Let's hope and pray there is more light than shade in reality. I'm giving our new PM a chance.

We've become awful fickle, like we're picking Prime Ministers on Tinder and swiping, next please.

Not that I have ever been on Tinder. But one stays culturally aware, you know. by @janeyjoneswriter

Don't look closely, might be your present by @janeyjoneswriter

I recently discovered that only 0.6 % of people globally will complete a marathon in their lifetime.
The test of stamina, endurance, fitness and perseverance is phenomenal.
After Ben was profoundly injured 4 years ago, I would not have believed he could do another marathon.
He's a young man of incredible determination, strength and maturity.
Lisa and I had little to no signal on our phones as we tracked him to the finish. Anxious, excited, proud, we waited with thousands of others, eyes searching. Where are they?
We also shared the energy of those other families waiting for the face they love to emerge in a vast crowd, scanning their loved one at last for well being.
It might sound trite but I was proud of everyone who ran, whether they finished first, last, or not at all.
You are all heroes for asking that of your body.
Well done, Ben. You astound me, always.

Hello, how are you?
I've been thinking about looking right for our age and the dangers of beauty procedures that make us look weird. I want to say to myself and to all women, it's okay to have lines, we can still be lovely with lines.
I think the obsession with youth is as old as time, we don't appreciate youth when we have it.
I remember when I was a girl, thinking of lots of older women as beautiful, elegant, classic. If you know what your style is, you are beautiful.
Confidence is everything.
