OPERATION TRAL TEAM FILE #16

STILL PHOTOGRAPHY | JAN JOSEPH GEORGE

Sometimes, a single photograph is all it takes to make people curious about a film.

Over the years, Jan Joseph George has been behind the stills of films such as Virus, 2018, Premalu, Identity and Daveed - stories that couldn’t be more different from one another.

From large ensemble dramas to crowd-favourite entertainers, his lens has travelled across a remarkable range of cinema.

Now, he joins the team behind Operation Tral.

And we can’t wait to share the world of Operation Tral through his frames in the days ahead.

Delighted to have you on board, Jan.

19,024 feet. Higher than Everest Base Camp.

When you sign up for the Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey, you know you're chasing something wild - but nothing prepares you for the sheer grit required to conquer Umling La.

The journey into the Changthang region is a masterclass in raw, unfiltered adventure. The terrain tests every single piece of your machine and your mental resolve. One minute you're navigating loose gravel switchbacks that feel like they're crumbling into nothingness; the next, you're fighting crosswinds so violent they threaten to push your loaded Himalayan right off the track.
And then there's the weather. At this altitude, the air doesn’t just feel cold—it feels razor-sharp. With oxygen levels slashed by half, every breath is a conscious effort. The temperature plunges rapidly as you climb higher, freezing your fingers to the bars while the midday sun burns through the thin atmosphere.
But as the tires bit into the dirt of the final, grueling ascent, the machine never skipped a beat. Reaching that yellow border stone at the top isn't just a riding milestone; it’s a humbling reminder of what happens when the human will meets the ultimate terrain. Built for all roads, built for no roads, and tested at the absolute limit of the world. 🏍️🏔️

It's that time of the year again and check out @royalenfield website for booking your ride. taken in Umling La Top by @janjosephgeorge
