I’m settling into my new name and life and identity and this is a reboot!

This year has been a hell of a ride, and we’re not even finished yet. I got divorced, graduated college at 45, changed my last name, traveled, danced in the desert, made some incredible memories, and found myself building a life that looks very different from the one I started the year with.

There have been big decisions, beautiful surprises, a little chaos, a whole lot of love, and plenty of moments that reminded me how much life there is left to live.

I’m 45, figuring things out as I go, and having a pretty damn good time doing it. If you’re new here, welcome! If you’ve been around for a while, you already know there’s always another story. 💜

Here’s to the women who keep growing, changing, starting over, and finding new reasons to get excited about life.

We’ve got some catching up to do. 🥂

Rachel and I were absolutely ridiculous. And judging by these pictures, we were also fabulous for absolutely no reason.

There were tiaras, beads, bathroom photo shoots, questionable decisions, and a level of confidence that honestly should have been studied. We weren’t thinking too hard about girlhood or womanhood. We were just living, laughing, being dramatic, and doing whatever the hell we wanted.

And then we grew up. Sort of.

Life took us in different directions. We fell in love, had our hearts broken, made mistakes, and learned some things the hard way. We built very different lives for ourselves, and somehow, through all the years and thousands of miles between us, we’ve managed to keep finding our way back to each other.

Rachel knew me before I knew half the things I know now. She remembers versions of me that barely exist anywhere except in old photographs and ridiculous stories, and there’s something pretty fucking special about being known that way.

We’ve been digging through old pictures and revisiting our stories lately, and I’m realizing how much of womanhood involves looking back at the girls we used to be with a little more understanding and a lot more affection. We were ridiculous, reckless, brave, and completely unaware of everything life had in store for us.

I wouldn’t trade those girls for anything, and I love that we still get to be a little bit of them whenever we’re together.

Love you, Rachel. We really were something. And we still are. ❤️

My new goal in life is to be as wealthy as my algorithm thinks I am. by @janmpeltier

Long-term friendship hits differently in your 40s.
There are people who remember versions of you that barely exist anymore.
They knew your bad haircuts. Your terrible relationships. Your questionable decisions. Your reinventions. Your heartbreaks. Your glow-ups.
And somehow, after decades of becoming completely different people, you can sit down together and it still feels like home.
Romantic love gets a lot of attention.
But being deeply known by someone who has chosen your friendship over and over again for 20 or 30 years?

That’s a love story too💖
Love you Bills!

There is something incredibly romantic about finding the person who feels like home in a place built to disappear.
In the middle of the dust and fire, beneath impossible skies and surrounded by a city that exists for only a moment, I kept looking at Kyle and thinking how extraordinary it is that I get to love him.
To dance with him. To wander with him. To reach for his hand without thinking. To catch his eyes across a crowd and know exactly where I belong.
There were a thousand beautiful things to look at on playa, and somehow I still found myself looking at him.
I love the life we’re building together. I love the tenderness between us, the adventure, the friendship, the ridiculousness, and the quiet intimacy tucked between all of it.
Black Rock City disappears…

This doesn’t.
