POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

On Monday, August 31 my dad Raymond Olson passed away surrounded by his family. He was one of my best friends and a truly wonderful father. He is the most patient, gentle and kind person that I have known. We will always remember him as a man of strong faith characterized by love and acceptance of other people. His hope was in his Creator and we know that he is healed and completely at peace. Our grief is mixed with overflowing gratitude for his life. Love you Dad. by @janna.olson24

WOS was pleased to show kids from @legal_titans_gsacrd the ropes about disc golf today at Kingswood Park in St. Albert.

The weather was amazing and the kids were super excited to get out to throw some plastic! It is such an awesome activity that's good for all ages.

Special thanks to members @janna.olson24 @thediscdawg and @wildman_discgolf for helping out! taken in Kingswood Park, St Albert by @janna.olson24

Introducing another awesome new addition to the team! With a positive attitude and a huge passion for getting people into disc golf, say hello to Janna!

Learn more about her below and give her a follow! And see what she has to share this year as she enjoys sharing this sport with everyone!

Name-Janna Olson

PDGA#-251720

Experience - started after Covid and played first tournament in 2023 (She’s Up First). I played at first to spend time with family but then discovered a love for the sport and joined EDGA and women’s league.

Why Disc Golf - first as a family activity and for the community aspect. The combination of being outside and physically active is ideal. I’m enjoying the tournament experience which builds thinking skills and mental strength with the extra pressure. I have loved meeting and playing with so many interesting people and building connections through the shared love of this sport.

Goalsb- to build more consistency, gain backhand distance and develop a usable forehand. Hoping to build resilience when playing in big tournaments like Master’s Worlds (coming up in July!)

Favorite Course- Wildman (when it was open) and Aspen Meadows West but really enjoyed playing The Canyons in Illinois and Revelstoke DGC

Favorite Disc-Envy

Fun Fact-I love “course collecting” and have played 88 unique courses so far. I’m a professional musician and get to travel for work so I'm hoping to break the 100 course mark this summer. by @janna.olson24

Funds raised will go to CMHA Alberta - East Central to promote mental health and support people recovering from mental illness. Any donation, big or small, is really appreciated!
